I've got over a hundred saved YT video subscriptions, mostly guitar related, the visual production of your work and how you demo gear is second to none in my opinion.........good to have you back and look forward to each and every video you produce. Would love to see you demoing the HeadRush Prime sometime in the future.

Thanks so much for the kind words, it really lights a fire under me to keep making the videos as well as I can! I have actually had a Headrush Prime with me for 4 weeks now and have a series of videos planned on it, each one hopefully unique to anything else that's been done yet. I wanted to spend a good amount of time with the unit and learn it's faults and strengths rather than rush anything out. There's definitely some downsides I've not seen anyone cover yet but on the whole it's an incredibly impressive product for under 1K.

Thanks for the review. Not sure lack of XLRs is such a big deal when you have balanced TRS outs. A couple of adapters and problem solved. Balanced outs is a significant improvement over the GP100 I reckon.

Fair comments but I always prefer to have both since I do a lot of changing from going into an Interface, an FRFR, then into a Power Amp/Zilla 2x12 with the speaker emulation off.

I think having the FX loop as well as balanced outputs in this unit makes it much better than the 100. You can place the FX send/reurns at any points in the signal chain, this give the addition routing options and the balanced TRS does away with the need to purchase a seperate DI. Just buy a 30cm TRS to XLR and youve got something to hand the live engineer. Thx for the vid, I'd love to see you experiment with the extra routing capabilities the loop gives. Im really thinking about buying this and putting a Tonex pedal in the loop and using that as the main amp sound, the Tonex also has more outputs so it could be routed to an onstage amp or IEM.

Great idea with the Tonex! could be a very nice compact rig. Id consider the HX Effects as well to add to the Tonex.

What do XLR outputs do that balanced TRS outputs - which this unit has- can‘t do?
@ChilledGuitarReviews
@ChilledGuitarReviews Жыл бұрын
It's not that they offer anything particularly different it's more about having simultaneous routing options such as being able to drive an FRFR, a Power Amp into a Guitar Cab and at the same time have a Line Output to front of house/In-Ears etc etc. I do a lot of simultaneous signal capture and really for the top end unit from a brand it's something I'd expect. Apologies if this wasn't made clearer in the video! :)

I wanted to get the GP200. However I got the LT version due to the taxes to import to Brazil. I got mine in a deal for about 190USD(the GP200 was about 330 at the time). I saw in recent reviews that the LT wasn't being taxed at customs here, so that was my choice (the taxes for the gp200 was about 370brl). It was an amazing upgrade from the Mooer ge150 I was using! Nice video mate! I'll check and test your IR here!

I could buy this second hand but I m not sure the looper is convenient enough to use in a one man band situation live. Let s say I m playing a song and I want to put some solo in the middle but I have to carefully push 2 buttons at once to get into the looper, than another button n to get out to be able to turn on a distortion or booster. Is there a 1 button looper option in it? Thank you

Isn't XLR are "bad" type of connection for the guitar? Because of introduction of the mixer preamp to the chain, when using XLR connections to the pult with the sound engineers, in the wild.

Hey Bro!!! Amazing video 💪😉. I have the Valeton GP 200 and I really love it, have some details like the small knobs ( very fragiles to me) but really I use the editor to perform my settings. Amazing video as always 💪😉 PS: Another great point is: turn it on the unit and starts in seconds, this is really amazing

@AmishMutantPower
@AmishMutantPower Жыл бұрын
@@ChilledGuitarReviews It looks very good to me, it has a great construction (robust) and it performs tremendously, (you can assign many parameters to it). Another point: I found as a "problem" is that you can't control the volume separately when you split the signal (1- With cab on and 2 - with cab off). The master volume is the same for both... But I think Valeton Gp 200 is really great and totally friendly to perform great sounds without going crazy 😅

I've been getting back in guitar over the last year after not playing for a decade. I just upgraded to a Marshall DSL40c, and i picked one of these up for under $200. I dont care so much about the modeling, I'm basically using it for the effects as I dont have the money to build a proper pedal board at the moment. I need to spend more time with it, but so far, I havent been able to find a mix of compression, chorus, and delay that's better than just "good enough". I think my next move will be to try to run it through the effects loop on the amp, instead of directly into the input. Do you have any advice?

Indeed, the Ocean Machine pedal! I owned one of them since launch and whilst they can give great sounds they are actually quite unintuitive to use. Plus the screens on them scratch for a past time! Worth a go for the right price if you dont mind a bit of a learning curve!

I actually don't like USB C for devices that have the space for USB B. USB B is much more robust over many cycles of connecting and disconnecting. USB C tends to get loose.

Great video, thanx a lot🤟 I connected my gp200 to a bluguitar amp1 iridium and i would like to send midi messages to the amp1 in order to change the amp channels. Amp1 listens on midi channel1. I set up the gp200 to send midi messages on midi channel 1, then on omni but the gp200 does not send any messages. Do you know how to set up the gp200 midi settings so that i can control any midi device listening on channel one? I spent a few hours to figure it out but unfortunately no luck😩 Can you possibly help me to solve that problem?

Ok this is scary, I was looking at some cheap modellers on Amazon when I got the notification. Great points I’d say and I’m in agreement with all of it, have you seen the Zoom G6? Ive been eyeing that one and think it’d be right up your alley (at least based on the carbon fibre chassis) when it comes to aesthetics and tones (from what I’ve heard, sound demos are never consistent IMO), keep up the good work!
@ChilledGuitarReviews

Hey dude. Im not familiar with Zooms current lineup so just took a look at the G6. Seems kind of expensive? I've not covered any of their products yet as they don't seem to be the player in the industry they once were so I'm not sure how much interest a video review would get. Have you had a go on any of their recent stuff?

Hi James. So if I want to go from a clean sound to a distortion sound on 1 patch that isn’t possible with this unit and does the full version with the expression pedal have this same issue or is it just the lite version ?. Thanks
@ChilledGuitarReviews
@ChilledGuitarReviews 11 ай бұрын
This is the case for both units unfortunately, however a workaround could be to set up an Overdrive/Distortion pedal in your chain and just switch that on/off to go between a driven sound and a breakup sound. For something with proper Scenes/Snapshots that allow seamless amp switching I'd recommend the Headrush MX5.

3:10 huh? XLR output and balanced outputs FUNCTION the same they just have different connectors. Hot, cold, a ground which are 3 pins using a CANON OR TRS jack! Absolutely, this video has made a mistake. He doesnt even know what balanced outputs are
@ChilledGuitarReviews
@ChilledGuitarReviews 11 ай бұрын
Apologies if this wasn't clear but It's not the absence of balanced outputs I was getting at, it was the lack of having an additional XLR output to run multiple parallel signals like in a Live scenario.
@PickcutStudios
@PickcutStudios 11 ай бұрын
@@ChilledGuitarReviews dude, balanced outputs are XLR. they look different but the same. Trs Balanced PinOut: Tip = Hot (signal) Ring = Cold(same signal inverted) Sleeve = Ground in an XLR that's Hot = Pin 2 Cold = Pin 3 Ground = Pin 1 THERE'S EVEN a Trs to Xlr Adapter. Absence of XLR? they're not CANNON connectors but they provide the same purpose/service which is A BALANCED connection. Unless that socket is TS or Tip Sleeve where in it's only Hot and Ground--- that's unbalanced which will incur noise the longer the cable becomes.
@ChilledGuitarReviews
@ChilledGuitarReviews 11 ай бұрын
@@PickcutStudios It's not wether they are balanced or not that I was getting at. I know the signal is the same regardless of connector but I still want both types of sockets so I can run multiple outputs simultaneously like to an FRFR, an Interface and a Power Amp which I regularly do when filming reviews. You can kind of workaround it by using the Headphone output and converting the Stereo output to Mono with an adapter but most mid range modellers provide both TRS Jacks and XLR outs which were missing on this product.
