I love this! I wanted to enlist in the Marine Corp when I graduated in 1995 at the age of 18 from high school here. Alas My parents didn’t let Me and I ended up going to a local community college here in PA. I still kick Myself to this day! Now I’m 45 and I’m way too old to enlist for any branch of our Armed Forces here. I thank each and every single Marine be it they are active duty or retired. Thank you ALL for your service! Semper Fidelis! 🇺🇸

Best wishes from Lithuania, US Marines! It's a pity, but everyone forgot what the Vikings were most afraid of, it was the Baltic Curonian Vikings. fierce and merciless (which is what killed them) they never gave in to anyone and fought to the end! until it disappeared.. it was the fraternal Baltic tribe of Lithuanians and Latvians. The saying "God, save us from the plague, the fire and the Kurshi (Curonians)" was found inscripted on a Danish church, dated to the 11th-12th centuries

vikingur litterally means pirates who plundered and raided, a lot off them weren't even nordisk (pronounced as wikinger).... also comes the english word wicked from.... soldiers and warriors were Norsemenn who fought for country, family, glory and the gods... Like who I am and I believe in (and in this case, the christian church destroyed our believe, and everyone who didn't follow the teachings of christ was burned, tortured and killed, (what i think is against the ten commands written by ur God, and the teachings of jesus ur christ), so thats why, nice to see an hommage to our gods, our believe from an christian army), also good to know, we norsemenn still exist, we weren't completely wiped out by the christian church, we evolved, work, watch tv and drive cars now like the rest of the world, we look for our woman, we look for our friends and family ;-) (nothing ment or said disrespectfully to the us navy nor ur believes) so, fight with the wisdom of Óðinn and the strenght of Þór till viktori eller valhöll
@NordicJarl273 жыл бұрын
I actually heard norse paganism is being practiced in us military. It's not a big presence but it's being practiced along side other pagan religions. So you never know. Maybe some of these people in the video are pagan.
@aerantje3 жыл бұрын
Not only there then I guess :-) The old way is even wide spread all over the world ;-) something to be proud off, skál fyrir þetta. and skál for the US military (soldier, marine, pilot, medic, ...for everyone who is giving his life for a safer world :-) )

Good tribute. But I have always had a problem with associating military to Viking. Completely different. Soldier and warrior are not usually the same. Most Vikings were not soldiers, but were warriors. Just my half cent worth.

The way you can link warriors of modern day to this song is the Marines itself we use the word Til Valhalla alot "I'll be with you till death" we have a strong fighting and angry spirit and the brotherhood will never break which ties I'm with the song itself as "Valhalla Calling Me" as marines we are literally ready to die at any moment we don't give a flying shit yet we know deep down how our family will miss us if that day comes
@NordicJarl272 жыл бұрын
@@aerantje I looked up paganism and there are quite a bit of norse pagans in America's military. So yeah I'm happy that they are still living on too.

So glad United States Marine Corp went a different route for ads over Army woke ads making us look weak. Marines are were it's at, showing our strength when times are rough. To many died and didn't get to go home for this bullshit now a days to be going on.
@user-bz4ys4hp6z2 жыл бұрын
Funny when none Scandinavians use our ancient history and think they are vikings. Haha.
@NordicJarl272 жыл бұрын
i don't think it's about marines thinking they're Vikings. It's about some of them believing in Valhalla and the gods. And there are some that do believe in them. Your ancestors pagan ways still live on through some of these soldiers here in America. May not be much but they are here. And you really don't have to be a scandinavian to be a viking. Viking was a job description. There were rus Vikings so there's that.
@AM-gm5jg2 жыл бұрын
Stop your folkist racist nonsense, it's a belief and anyone can follow it, we're not appropriating your beliefs or stealing them because you can't steal something that is literally known to the entire world as some other culture's culture, appreciating and worshipping the gods and goddesses of any pagan path is open to everyone. Your racism would never have been tolerated in the past nor in the present, and hopefully not in the future
@user-bz4ys4hp6z2 жыл бұрын
@@AM-gm5jg Now please tell me how thats racism. I beg you. Clearly you don’t know anything about our past. Can you even read old Norse? Of course you had/have to be scandinavian. But your opinion is funny. :)
@AM-gm5jg2 жыл бұрын
@@user-bz4ys4hp6z I can learn to read it the same way you can learn to read arabic و انا اتحداك ان تحاول ان تتعلم العربيه الفصيحه "And I challenge you to try to learn eloquent arabic" (the translation for the arabic text above). As for the racism part, it's easy to identify what you said as racist because you claim that we somehow can't understand your culture or even attempt to, which is clearly false, here I am trying to learn the elder futhark and I'm doing it with a passion, if you can share some of your knowledge I'd be happy, if you truly appreciate your own culture, that is.
@NordicJarl27 Жыл бұрын
