Erik, a brave Viking warrior, longed to reach Valhalla, the great hall of the slain in Asgard where the bravest warriors go to feast and fight forever. He knew the only way was to die in battle. He set out on a journey and found a fierce war between two tribes, he fought with all his might and skill, and finally faced the enemy chieftain in a one-on-one duel. He emerged victorious, but lay dying on the battlefield, his spirit rose to the heavens, and saw the great hall of Valhalla open wide to welcome him home. From that day on, Erik feasted and fought alongside the other brave warriors in Valhalla, living a life of eternal glory and honor. He had reached his ultimate goal and found his way to Valhalla.

Pay tribute to those who had to endure those times. Cherish what you've got today.. for we may be heading straight to the same dark times where the the fire, the meat and the steel were all that mattered.

I just love the not so welcoming droning ambience linked to Valhalla. Perfect for introducing non evil or even the goodest of good extraplanar beings in roleplaying sessions. Facing manifestations of other spheres of existence should be scary for us Midgardians regardless of their intentions. And else it is a wonderful tune for falling asleep. Reminds me of the Dread movie when SloMo drug sequences were shown.

There is nothing particularly "viking" or "Nordic" about this modern ambient music. It could go with any number of dark or mysterious scenery.

Good point. Yet the heart is in the right place… on mushrooms for sure. Just the label and power of suggestion plus artwork is enough to evoke a response provided you supply a little imagination. Like this could almost be an intro to an immortal album. Although if you’re a true thinker this won’t fly for you! Hopefully my tone comes over as light, all the best. Peace on your journey
