haha Yeah. Unfortunately this stream was mostly us actually sailing to the Ashlands, but we get there at the end. One thing we realized, is we still had it on hard mode. My change to the modifiers didn't take so it was brutal!

"I tried to avoid things about the Ashlands" then later says "I was reading about the Ashlands where they say the mobs aren't hard just the amount they throw at you" hmmmmmm :p But yeah I was like holy shit you guys had the easiest landing.....until you got the usual welcome. I can't wait for the nerfs to land. I like challenges but trying to walk anywhere is tedious having to just cut your way through wave after wave after wave. Killed the last boss yesterday and I honestly hate the new zone more than I hate the mistlands. And I never thought I would say that.

I actually did try to avoid Ashlands content as much as possible but it's hard when I frequent the subreddit. :P Though in my defense, learning about how mobs work doesn't bother me as much as finding out about the actual progression items you get. That's sad to hear. Hopefully they fix some of these spawning issues and then it would be more fun for you. It is definitely crazy, but we have come from playing modded with 70+ mods making everything 5 stars and spawning roughly 30+ different new creatures, so I am used to crazy. Still sucks though.

I see the fun in using hard mode... also, is it total game over if you die?

Yeah it was definitely fun, but Ashlands I think was just a bit much on hard mode. Maybe once we learn the biome more we can come back to it on hard. We do not play with "game over after death" but you essentially can with the modifiers. That would be very punishing. It takes a LONG time to get to the Ashlands.
