Ask-Svin is Swedish meaning “Ash Swine”. As many other of the objects in the game has been given Swedish names from the Swedish delevopers❤️

Since it's a 'swine' I think a good name for a 2 star tamed specimen would be "Sir Pork of Ahsenville" or "Sir Bacon the Ashbringer" or something like that (can't think of a decent feminin name, since they all sound pretty insulting, like "Lady Swine/Porco/Porky etc...").

Great guide! I always utilize pits for my capture of animals to tame but I can't catch a break with these lizards. I have tried digging an appropriate pit but keep getting swarmed by the local fauna and forced to retreat to mend, restock on arrows, meads, then I get back to digging for a minute only to get a small army after me again. As some throw rocks, some have bows, some hop and explode, some fly right down into the hole and make life miserable...I only hope that once it is finished I'll survive my harpooning attempt as I've yet to encounter a lone lizard.

While tameing 2 star wolves in the mountains, ive build a wall and ceiling. That way, no mob interfered. Maybe it works the same here?

An important detail I was trying to find that I didn't see in the Wiki or in this video was how many asksvins can you breed in an area. With previous animals, they'll stop breeding at 6 (including the parents). Is that the same for Asksvins? Will they continue to spawn eggs past that, but the eggs won't hatch, or some other behavior? I think chickens also continued to spawn eggs, but obviously their eggs had a purpose in cooking, whereas the asksvin eggs are only used for hatching as far as I can see.

The 2 star askvin can spawn naturally on the world? because 2 star lox cant spawn for example, but they exist in the game

Possibly, but for now I can say you need to cultivate the land and plant them near a build piece they can grow up

@@Kysen yeah I've played around with it. I've tried it with the overhang roof technique. doesn't like it. Also it seems I plant them too close, and then I can't remove them so they just sit and look ugly. I've even tried lattices for like a vineyard look... I'm frustrated. Essentially my 2 issues have been: A. Using them with older building techniques and B. Proximity to the building/ structure itself

Quick correction: Asksvin will drop an egg the same level/star they are. Regardless of what level/star they breed with. It's not random. So a 2* Askvin will always drop 2* egg.

Lol i looked up this video cause the wiki says you tame them with Proustite Powder (which is a lie) the smoke puffs make much more sense.

just like all the other "pets" in game, they're pretty useless. I was hoping I will be able to ride them on top of the lava fields, unfortunately you still get burn damage, from small lava explosions. It's just a hassle and a waste of time, plus a lot of potential to die while doing it.

Did you honestly expect a Valhiem KZfaqr to not make videos about the new features added to Valhiem? I mean that's the risk with social media... ig you're subscribed to a Valheim youtuber don't expect them to not make a video on new things. And the Thumbnail is just part of that. If you use Social Media there's always a chance you'll get spoiled
