I LOVE that idea! I actually am familiar with how hard it was for the allies to take Italy. Mostly because I'm interested in WW1 and WW2. Keep pitching ideas I'd love to discuss them with you!

@@ColinLackI was going to say prequel but I hit play where I paused and you brought it up immediately. The only other idea I have will never happen because of where these games are made(not trying to be an arse) but I’d say the pacific theatre would be interesting more because I love the cod world at war game and like the variety of maps that game offered, reason it won’t get made is(and I completely understand Japan on this) it’d hit just a little too close to home for them(and I mean that game only really ends one way and it’s not a nice reminder to the Japanese plus unless they take a lot of liberties they’d be painting themselves the baddies which I don’t blame them for not wanting to(besides the Germans of ww2 make better baddies)). There is another option…..play with history a bit, swap out its order and create a new continent to represent the USA(warning im about to kick the hornets nest, you’ve been warned). But base the new conflict off the American Civil war but have it happen at the same time as the events of the other games(thus explaining where the America’s counterparts are during the war and also avoiding the whole Japan discomfort problem). You could even have it be the empire supports one side and the federation supports the other. However I know this next statement is controversial of me so sorry but I’d suggest maybe the cause should be something like a power mad senitor wanting to rule this stand in America like a king or emperor(maybe revealing later he or she is a puppet of the empire). That’s it my brain can’t think of anymore ideas I consider passable….the only remaining idea I have that isn’t insane is do a ww3 scenario….but that idea is dumb

@@andrewobrien8325 Honestly I was thinking use VC5 as a build up for a WW3 scenario. Because this world is so rich you could do a lot. Also, I think the American Civil War idea is cool! Also, you could always have it that it takes the core gameplay of VC and transposes it to different eras. Hell, a VC game set during that world's version of The Napoleonic Wars could even be interesting and could delve more into the tactical side of the gameplay!

@@ColinLack oooo I love that napoleonic war idea, it’d probably be more unit themed but that could work. Though again it’d muck with history even more would be the Falklands war idea. Except maybe bring the Falklands closer to europa and have them be islands that the empire has occupied, the idea of retaking them is seen by some as utter madness but maybe there is talk of the empire pulling their darksein nonsense on this island(like an island where barbaric experiments are being done). And as a way to sell the game(plus the other games) have the team send there be an A-team of characters from the other games leading a new unit with new characters. I’d suggest as 3 returning characters Minerva Victor(I know she has her faults but the fourth game’s ending did seem to imply she had a good career and this would be a way to restore her honour), Largo(I like him and think maybe his experience wasn’t leaned on enough in the first game) and as the final returning character Welkin Gunther(I know he’s not keen on battle but i reckon that if he heard the empire was holding an island just to commit sick experiments on Darkseins…his love for his sister would pull him in). I honestly think Minerva and Welkin would conflict well with each other. During the game you could have a dynamic where you have to choose between Minerva’s way and Welkin’s way. Like Minerva’s methods could be more brutal while Welkin tries to keep the blood to a minimum(id suggest that as a tie breaker one of the characters from the second or third game be brought in who’s methods could either be more brutal or more in the middle). But still that’s just because I like games where your choices matter

@@andrewobrien8325 I also like games where choices matter! Also, I can't believe I didn't think of The Falklands War as a potential point! I'm not sure what music you're into but I love metal and the band Sabaton have a song about The Falklands War called Back in Control give that a listen! Also, the reliance on units was what made me think of the Napoleonic Wars. They could even have a continent representing The Americas and adapt The War of 1812 between Canada and the US. Which, let's be real neither side won that one. Though some do consider it as just another theatre to the Napoleonic Wars. But it's also the reason the White House is white. Because a bunch of British soldiers and Native Canadians sacked Washington.

I’m doing a video on my gripes with 4. I don’t hate the game it just disappoints me. :) I would love to see some Napoleonic style warfare in EW1 :) if they go further down the timeline like VC2 did I feel like the Cold War would be the best option. I definitely feel like we need a game from the Empires perspective though!

That would interesting considering there could be clear references to the supposed hypocrisy of Vinland supposedly fighting for freedom while being a deeply unequal society racially speaking Ala segregated units, racial discrimination rampant in the command structures and such and have soldiers start integrating more mirroring the irl course of the military, have Vinland have its own discriminated against minorities akin to the indigenous or black communities in America

@@ColinLack you should checkout the film we were solder’s starring Mel Gibson I’ve been told it’s fairly accurate to the actual war and it would probably give you an idea of what a Valkyria chronicles game based on it would be like

I'd forgotten they had mentioned the eastern front also I like those ideas though I would like more small maps personally as I found 4s maps were too large and empty a lot of times.

@@ColinLack I also prefer small maps right now... because big maps have not a lot of options for players. which could be improved with more transportation methods and constructions for engineers
