I sum it up nicely by saying we have different tastes, like genres. I'll keep smiling and waving at them even if I see that their looking at me less now for my interests until I get my chance to walk away and leave. Maybe a throw a dagger at them if they're being incredibly rude about opinions or some social jargon like that in the intermissions of when they take a breath.

@@ignisking759 I undestand that people are gonna have diferent opinions and preferences that's fine, my problem is the people that act like what they liked better is objectibly better, treat their opinion as fact and treat anyone that thinks different to them as "wrong"

@@SuperKiobi13 Ah, those can be tricky as they can either be one or many as well as shepherds or sheep with regards to "their opinions". It's one of the reasons I avoid comparison conversations as I feel like those are like walking on egg shells where one crack can turn into a frothing mess of gum flapping. On the side, it's fair practice to tune out.

Blame the toy companies honestly. Cartoons in America usually ran off toy sales, so if you couldn't sell toys your show was cancelled. As a result, most cartoons are lumped in as being only for kids. I actually get mad if one of my friends refer to an animated movie as a kid movie, I'll instantly correct them that it is a 'family movie,' as in people of all ages can find something to enjoy.

I said something like this on part one but it still needs to be said. It was line from the critic at the end of ratatouille "Not anyone can cook but a good cook can come from anywhere." This is about more than just food. It means that quality can come from places you may never think to find it. Every time someone says that animation isn't art I tell them about the line from the critic because it's clear they haven't learned that lesson yet.

Do you mean that kids can't enjoy and/or comprehend these scenes as well? (Not trying to sound rude lol) The large part of animation **is** aimed towards young kids. (Which is sometimes pretty unfortunate since the majority of it ends up being made condescending. I wish more animated movies could be aimed at a more general audience.) But anyway, it's not like they are making these scenes just for the older people watching. A film or story for kids can still have this type of stuff and still be for kids. Unless you're talking about people who say that animation is only for kids and older people shouldn't watch it, then I totally get you.

@benjamming883
@benjamming883 4 жыл бұрын
They sing a good song, but I would not follow Timone and Pumba's advice - that's the wrong idea. Timone and Pumba are Nihlists and they blissfully poisoned Simba's mind. Luckily Simba eventually recognises this and saves all three of them from this mindset. You see, no matter how the world turns on you, you should not turn your back on it. To forget your responsibility for others is to forget your reason to live. You may not live forever, but the impact you make on the world will. Lion king is a a really important film (if your kids don't want to read Hamlet).

"I would never expect you to do something impossible, because it's impossible, right? So why would you put impossible expectations on yourself? Son, all we can do, is the best we can do - and that's just it, isn't it? The best we can do, well... it's the best we can do. No matter how far you've come, there will always be things you will think you could have done better. But son, no one is perfect. It's alright to fail, it's alright to make mistakes. The best you can do, is the best you can do - and the best you can do, is good enough." I used to be cripplingly hard on myself when I was a teenager. I used to feel any little mistake, any accident, anything aside from perfection as unequivocal failure. I was contemplating suicide when my dad came to me to have a talk. I told him how I was feeling, and how hard I was on myself all the time. This is what he told me. I've never forgotten it, it's something that changed my life. I love you dad.

6:13 This is why we need these kinds of powerful messages in animation. This whole scene always makes me emotional. Especially later on when Hiccup starts to admit that he thought he's always let his dad down, I personally am going through the same struggle of feeling the same way. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about it in some capacity. But then we follow this scene up with probably one of the wisest characters from my childhood in Iroh, saying that we need to keep going if we're ever to see positive change we want and need. This edit is amazing and I fail to see how animation is a form solely for kids.

The death of Bing Bong.... Simultaneously a brilliant visual metaphor for what you must leave behind to move from child to adult and the moment Joy realizes for herself the importance of being allowed to feel sadness as a coping mechanism.

I love Miles Morales's story, how him shattering the glass shows his leap of faith. Instead of easily taking off from the window, it shows he's still stuck to it, as if he wasn't supposed to leave, but he took a leap of faith, freeing himself, shattering the glass that stuck him to his own limits.
