Correction, it was supposed to be that the Boxer was supposed to become the sword for the SRX but they repurpose it for the boxer attachment for the Huckbein Mk3 instead. The R gun was a prototype for the R-schneide/R-einst.

The boxer armor parts were originally designed to be the R-Sword counterpart to the R-Gun. Basically, it was too expensive, so Ryoto made it into this instead.

The animation you are thinking of with the surfboard Boxer frame is in OG2 on GBA.

I think it was stated that the plot for the Anime is set in another parallel universe that's why the events aren't 1 to 1 with the PS2 storyline.

Actually I never noticed the Tausendfuessler looked like it had a smiley face, no. It's a transport class rather than a unique vehicle for what it's worth. And it's agony protecting the stupid things in the games. At least once you get the carrier units they can actually project a decent amount of firepower for some distance around them.

No. This is the MK III Boxer, and the Gunner. The one with the Black Hole Cannon is Ex-Exbein it comes way later might never appear in an anime.

There's also a possibility we might never see the original Huckebein in an anime, thanks to the whole mess with Sunrise. So the Black Hole Cannon would only be used by the Ex-Exbein, and Ing shows up in 2nd OG for the first time - that means the anime would have to adapt the Shura War first, and only then get to 2nd OG.

The whole idea that there's a mess with Sunrise regarding the Huckebein seem to be a myth from everything I've been able to find out. Before they all merged Bandai co-owned Banpresto in 1989 and they already owned Sunrise at the time. The Huckebein's and the Exbein's are designed by Hajime Katoki, better known for his Gundam designs. The Exbein's effectively are the same minus the fact they aren't powered by Tronium or a Black Hole Engine. In other words the idea that there was bad blood between Sunrise and Banpresto seems to be made up by some fans to try and explain an absence of the Huckebein. Plus we already got the Huckebein come back in Super Robot Wars V in 2017 so again this idea that there was something wrong behind the scenes seems to have been made up.

The songs in the background are actually instrumental themes - most of the pilots in this franchise get one. I know three of these since I own the soundtrack (and one of the games). The one starting at 1:01 is Flapper Girl; it's the personal theme of the blond girl pilot (Ryune). The one at 2:04 is Violent Battle, the personal theme of four villain pilots (the blond guy, Mekibos, is one of them). The one at 4:07 is Ace Attacker, the personal theme of the Exbein/Huckebein Mk-III (the blue mecha) - it plays whenever someone pilots it.

They're not much following the game... Like appearance of Thrudgelmir at same time as AngelG in first episode Thrudgelmir wouldn't appears before stage 13 or 14... in Original GBA OG2
