In this talk, Ellen Huang (Associate Professor of Humanities & Sciences, ArtCenter College of Design and former Curator of Asian Art at the Ackland Art Museum) reflects on three ceramics from the John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection that are decorated with copper pigment. Huang discusses the diversity of copper qualities in ceramic designs and explores the significance of copper red in ceramics.
