I am from the UK. The BBC is a sad shell of the organization it was twenty years ago. It is kept alive by a forced tax on UK residents. If you buy a television in the UK you are meant to pay the BBC £165(yes this is true check). In exchange for this tax it has a mandate to be impartial, the worst part is the BBC believes it is!

I don't think it's any small thing for us to recognize how how much it levies the playing field that interviewers might be facing an interview E who has his own film crew and audience watching. This might be a very good start to levering a balance of conversational power in the media to make sure that there is always a backup source for the conversation. Actually be the type of idea that might lead to an open form of philosophical discussion amongst the world's thought leaders that would have a balance of power because it can't be marginalized by the editorial spin and the cutting up of the conversation into pieces. I think this is very significant thought

I don't know about that. Overall it was an interesting interview, and part of the reason it existed was because he and the BBC arranged and broadcast it. Elon demonstrating that the interviewer was making baseless claims at multiple points in the interview didn't stop it from being good to watch. In fact, it made it better. I award 1 point each to the BBC and James Clayton and 100 points to Elon Musk.

It's about time interviewers learned their lesson. Don't go into an interview if you are not prepared for a conversation and with an agenda. 😅Just like in Cathy Newman's case the passive aggressive angry interviewer with an agenda stumbles when interviewing a relaxed, intelligent (that always helps) and straightforward interviewee. The BBC news guy had his interview date at least for 2 or 3 days in advance. He could not have brought one or two specific subjects to make his point to Elon. So much for the BBC having educated journalists !

I also think that if you are famous and powerful and someone wants to interview you. You should get your own personal team recording the full interview as well. So that no one can miss use or take you out of context.

This is what I do to people who say the similar things about trump. I really hate defending politicians, but I hate people parroting the tv even more. Plus it makes them mad when they cannot com up with a single example.

The best example is asked them to name one bathing that Biden has done to improve Americans without stating Trump and then you'll let them name two things Trump did wrong. No one has achieved the challenge.

I know! I've heard those claims about how racist and sexist he is, always with no good examples. The best anyone can say is that he made a tweet one time about something that they heard was racist...It's all second-hand talk. "I heard someone else say he was a racist, so he must be".

@@drsiigabb9935 After listening to a family member telling people that trump said to drink bleach for the 200th time, I offered them $10k to show me an evidence that he ever said that. They were so happy for the money. Two days later I said I was still waiting. The best that they could come up with was birx rolling her eyes while trump was talking hahahaha. Now whenever they ask me for money, I tell them I know how they can easily get it. That one statement really irked me because I'd read the medical paper that trump was referring to (pubmed: Can biowarfare agents be defeated with light? PMCID: PMC3925713 ), but somehow it was twisted to "drinking bleach" which I've heard repeated on tv ad nauseam.
