I went to Saudi Arabia last year on vacation, in the SW corner, and can say without hesitation that I felt extremely safe (apart from the terrible standard of driving!) and met nothing but kindness and hospitality. I had innumerable invitations to have tea or coffee with picnicking families, and to come to people's houses for a meal. People routinely stopped to ask if I needed help when I was walking in the mountains. Although there are a lot of police cars on the roads, I never saw them hassling anybody. It's a fascinating country with a lot to see, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

I’m half English and half Saudi. I spent most my life living in the UK until Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman came along. I felt that home was calling me and that I had to return home to take part in Vision 2030 and be part of the positive change taking place here. I like how you analyzed this Patrick. I'm Saudi and I can say you're almost accurate about what you said. MBS is a very powerful person in Saudi and in the Middle East. He's very ambitious and wants to make the ME the best region in the world "AKA the New Europe of the World", not just Saudi Arabia. If Saudi and Iran come to terms with each other it will make a huge difference in the region, and that includes the Palestinian - Israeli conflict. Unfortunately as you said, the region is pretty much troubled and it will be complicated to try and avoid that while you're making progress.

The fact that he went for normalization with Iran thanks to Chinese mediation as well his large deals with China and getting into the BRICS shows a level of independence from American hegemonic empire! I admire that he’s his own man with an independent decision making! It makes the whole region safer as the US is behind most of the conflicts across the world as US government works in a binary diplomatic ideology of labeling people either friends or enemies and nothing in between! Friends are practically vassals of the empire and enemies are the ones who are sovereign and independent! So, Saudis are quickly becoming a US enemy by not being a complete vassal!!

@@AbdulMajeed-lf5sq So you think a 15 man execution squad was sent (with all their tools and bags) to Istanbul to dismember a high profile journalist WITHOUT the royal family's blessing? Are you joking? Tell me you're not really this naive. The fact they lied multiple times proves they got caught. First they said he left safely. Then surveillance videos were released showing that wasn't true. Then they said he died after a fight inside. But no ambulance or police were called. They literally had all the tools necessary to chop him up and remove him in briefcases! If it wasn't for Turkey secretly bugging the whole building, the world wouldn't have heard the recordings of them killing him.

As we were all running to our stations, I said a prayer- God if you save me I will commit my life to you. A Patriot missile fired from the desert intercepted the scud and there were no fatalities. I opened my New Testament and it landed on Psalms 118: 17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. Jesus Christ facilitated S. A. for my preaching ministry over 30 years ago. How can you compare the safety of Saudi Arabia to any major European city? I understand some surrounding nations areas are volatile but you don't have to fly in through those areas. I'm not understanding the safety issue. In the US we have cartel wars just south of our border. It doesn't make me feel like my state isn't safe. So maybe if he eased up on the internal strong arm claims it would also help. 💯

Hey Pat, My name is Sami , and I live in Saudi Arabia. Thank you for the video and for presenting a general yet neutral picture of the kingdom and the crown prince. I will be 33 by Jan , and speaking of myself, I'm an admirer of the Prince and his reforms and vision. P.MBS is widely loved and admired by lots of young people like myself and ofc a fair number of elders and people of the older generation aren't on board with everything yet they will come to appreciate it in time. Sometimes it takes a man who is willing to go against the wind for real and positive change to happen. I can also assure you , having met ,studied as well as friended lots of foreign guests in Saudi Arabia, that it is not only safe! but amazingly welcoming. As people who but recently opened up to the wider world , we're naturally curious and thus largely excited to welcome , share and meet strangers and foreigners that come to know, learn or perhaps just enjoy their time here in KSA. Even older people can't contain their inner curious child once they interact with people who they never met before. Though I'm an irregular viewer of your show , I've watched enough discussions , debates and videos to come to value your takes. You tend to ask the right questions more than give absolute answers and i love that about you. Hopefully we get to see you visit one day, perhaps give a lecture about entrepreneurship , no matter the topic I would be down to attend

MBS is trying to distribute peace all around the middle east but there are some countries that are corrupt and would not want to be in peaceful state. What MBS has accomplished till now is huge compared to what it was and how the country was going economically. We will be there in 2030 when the vision is done and we will be working towards vision 2040. Relationship has been fixed with Iran. His majesty have mentioned in his interview a while back that he wants all the middle east to thrive because it is a win win situations for all parties (countries) We are here to lead, and become the new hot spots of the world. Saudi Arabia saw what UE did and they want some of that for them too. The big difference to me is that UE has been on this path for decades before they were able to have any meaningful results. Saudi Arabia wants to take a short-cut to that and that's fine...but to have a huge influx of tourists (middle Class and Upper Class), rich residends and multiple businesses....that takes a long time on this path...It doesn't matter how good your reforms are, but for how long they have been planted and working. And of course, there is the giant challenge that Saudi Arabia is the home of the most secret muslim site in the world. It is normal to host the most religious conservative people of the Planet...but How well that will go when you place these people together with american, asian and european tourists on the airports, streets and hotels?
