Oh baby. Here we go with the fun life. Sorry to all the ladies out there but will is in the process of coming out. He looks so happy now he’s got a boy with him. Man this current bring along looks quite the part. Will I know your not ready to cross that threshold on a public platform yet but when you do watch your subscriptions go to four hundred thousand and watch your life go into warp drive. !! Lovely campsite with showers.. Personally I would have stayed there for that price as it was such good value. Far less than overnight car parking in many cities. Those people deserve the business.

Electric (induction) hob only if you have tons of solar panel on the roof and a big chunk of battery… and of you are at a sunny area. The best cooking method in a rural area is an oven, campfire fueled with firewood and/or gas cooking. The best is having both of it in case of emergency. Draining the batteries using high powered devices is not a good idea, unless you have plenty solar power. Induction hob still consumes lots of electricity.

Get a portable gas stove as a backup or if you ever what to cook outdoors. They are not expensive, from £23 on amazon. The gas bottles are cheap to, cost around £2, have two bottles all the time and get another when one is used up, that way you know you always have gas. Another gas bottle for the built-on stove is also a option but it can help you if it is the stove or pipes fail. So a completely separate backup has advantages. If your inverter can handle it you can always get portable induction stove top

The Old Man that brings me back went there with friend's nearly 20 years ago! A bit of trivia for you 'Old Man' is a corruption of the Celtic word 'Alt Maen' meaning high stone, 'Coniston' is from the Norse name 'Konigs Tun', meaning King's Farm!

Great video, I was at Scarfell a few weeks ago and nearly ran out of fuel on that road that said no camping, funnily enough there were several vans camped there, I don't see the harm personally.

I've just had 4 days in the lakes , stayed in wasdale area and walked Scafell Pike area , love the lakes , you will fall in love with the place and want to visit again and again ❤️

the lakes is a wonderful place, a prelude to the highlands, we stayed at wasdal head, then scambled up scarfel pike. to get there we went over hardknot pass, "SCARY" good to see you enjoying yourself, I love watching these, as is shows the lows as well as the highs, no sugar coating

Induction hobs just need a solid electrical set up but it does works in vans regardless of what you read on the tinternet. Nice save with the rice cooker :)

14:18 yup back in the days when I was in college, me and my roomate used to cook everything on the rice cooker, after we finished cooking chicken curry/egg/vege inside.. we wash it and cook rice.. then we eat.

Now you are talking Will. Welcome to the North. I have climbed all 214 Wainwright Fells and used to wild camp in my car back in the day behind dry stone walls and basically wherever I could find. I had an old Citreon Picasso and the back seats came out leaving a flat floor that was long enough for a 6 foot inflatable camping bed plus duvet etc. Got a cool box which is just a polystyrene box and was given to me by a mate who used to work for the blood service and these things were designed to carry organs packed with ice for transplants. Put a frozen 2 litre bottle of water in an empty pop bottle in there with your food and your drinks and its easily as good as a fridge for upto 3 days even in peak summer. Loved it. Also camped in small tents at pretty much every campsite in the lakes at one time or another. Recognise a lot of the places in this video and Wasdale is my favourite spot in the Lakes. A trek to get there from anywhwere but its well worth the effort.

I did the same as you when I went up there. Was going to drive up to the car park and saw the hill and didn’t dare go up in the van. Had visions of just having the wheels spin and rolling back down. That first walk up the road is the worst part

lol thats one reason I carry several ways to cook. propane w/xtra bottles, butane w/xtra bottles, iso-butane, alcohol, charcoal and of course wood/brush.. you could have picked up more than enough small twigs for a tiny stove to cook your entire dinner... at least you could finish dinner in the rice cooker... Several youtube vanners were using induction but stopped for various reasons. A small butane stove is more than adequate and can be used outside the van as well .. I use my butane stove the most and a small iso-butane stove as a 2nd burner

I love the Lake District, its my favourite place to visit. I really feel at peace with myself when wandering through the mountains and along the lake sides. But £35 per night for a camp site is a bit steep. You can find an Air BnB for similar prices, which include tea, coffee, milk, bread etc. And a warm shower.

Not long got back from the Lake District ourselves, have fun. Recommend going blue bird cafe on Coniston lake and hire an electric boat. Or if your feeling up for a long climb Scafell Pike then go for a swim in Wastwater for 15mins to cool off. Absolute love the place and making it out annual trip. Have a cracking time Will an friend.

What a beautiful area and a lot of places you went through I have visited. That garage you filled up at sells gas I’m sure 😂. Wastwater is the deepest lake in the Lake District apparently. The old man of Coniston is a tough climb, I found Scafell Pike far easier. Great video 😊👍😊

Get yourself a kelly kettle. Perfect for any gas/electric breakdown/letdown eventuality. Awesome for "wild camping" too. Especially if you don't mind cooking outdoors too. Just make sure you've matches/lighter on board. Great video as always.

Guess you will invest in another cooking gas tank for a spare? So many things to see and do in the Lake District and you and your friend are taking advantage of them. Thanks for sharing and have a grand day.
