That’s a fact for me. I met Paco in 89 when he was a bouncer/security for an underground club in Hollywood. I was walking in and he’s at the door and I said wait weren’t you in Bloodsport? He said yes that’s me. He was a cool and humble dude. I asked him what his nationality was, and he said he was Italian, Portuguese, Puerto Rican and Cuban, that’s what I recall, and it blew me away. So instead of going in the club where celebrities hung out, I stayed out there with him. Highlight of my life.

What makes this movie great is the simplicity of it. Guy just wants to win the Kumite for his sensei. The antagonist doesn't have this over this top ambition, the main character isn't wrestling with some sort of inner turmoil, the love interest doesn't stab main character in the back or add unnecessary drama. Good times.

Frank's Shidoshi had incredible foresight. To train him in such a way that would not only allow him to stand and trade unprotected kicks to the ribs with a professional Muai Thuy fighter, but also allow him to increase his kick speed enough to be able knock him out cold effortlessly lmao. The Tanaka clan don't fuck around people 🤣😂

I’ve got Mexican uncles that look like all the 80-90’s action movie hero’s…I mean down to Chong Li and Dolph Lundgren! I kid you not 😆.

It was funny to see the kick to side of body challenge it had a particular set and rhythm watch if you play back with particular style of focuses you see more that was already there.

Gotta love these 80s action flicks. Dux gets punched to the left side of the head (in that dirty sucker pun move) ....... cut over the right eye???? Doesn't really take away from the whole thing though. Karate Kid, Commando, Predator..... all full of continuity errors and we still LOVE EM!
