AGM will last much longer then 3-5 years. I'm on my original set still and they are 12 years old and been in 2 campers now for a total or 10.5 years. Still going string as day they were installed. The best battery to install is saltwater battery

Inspirational build. I love modularity, but when is Victron going to release the Hybrid controller that has all in one Transfer switch, MPPT, Battery Charger, Shunt all in one? Say 6KW Inverter, 500V MPPT @ 4K watts, transfer switch, and battery charger all in one... Also, some companies or a consortium thereof are going to benefit from developing an Open Source BMS protocol, which would then benefit us all, and the originators would be the early adopters.

Orion charger only offers 30 amps at 12V. Even with two of them you're only at 60 amps. Modern van batteries are quite large and need higher current charging. I see that Sterling has released a 100 amp and even 200 amp chargers 12v chargers. To match this we'd have to put 6 Orions in paralell. This is NUTS. Is Victron going to come out with a proper high-current B2B charger?

Small 230v AC inverter would be useful surely ... also AC charger so that one can jack into an external source if need be

Slowly but surely I have been converting my boat from Mastervolt to Victron as it really is superior. Slightly annoyingly though my Cerbo GX stopped communicating with my Ruuvi’s. The one installed in this van probably runs an older firmware?

only draw back for me was that the inverter will not run my wifes hair straighteners,i had to buy a mastervolt inverter which looks odd in the middle of all my victron equipment.Yes i have spoken to victron who said ( just send it back we will refund)
