Just looking at Eddie, he is having so much fun just jumping around like its nothing. The sounds that he is making is like breathing it comes so natural to him. Its just amazing that GOD is walking amungst us in that form! 5150 FTW!

I like the way Eddie played the solo here better than the studio version, especially the subtle change to the lick from 3:19-3:23. Great performance!

I still think this was their best work sinse the old DLR days and you could even hear Michaels bass on the album for a change. One of the great albums of all time for me definitely.

I dont understand why people hated Van Halen (the band) when Sammy stepped in... without him Van Halen would have stopped existing. He sings really well. besides it's not all about the vocals.. it's about the thrilling shows, wicked guitar riffs, and high energy.

OMG!! eddie's even got the frankenstein print on the drill!!! the guitar he's using is his custom wolfgang model, named after his son. And paul gilbert used a little brush attachment on the drlil to tremolo super fast!

Hindsight being what it is , I wish I appreciated this era more when I was living through it . Van Halen was as tight as tight could get with Sammy.

Reminds me of the days when music used to be something special. As for the Dave vs sammy thing i have on sentence to say. Van Halen: Two of the greatest bands on earth.

@vanhalenkid He used to use these H&H mosfet power amps in the 80's and he'd plug all of those cabs on stage in! lol! Now there's just 3 cabs plugged in. He uses the other 2 heads just for power...not even plugged into the pre amp section but just the return input. Just power. The 3 heads are separate. Only the tone settings on the main (dry) head are used. (bass 7 mid 7 treb 3 pres 4 pre 4 master 7)

As much as I loved the David Lee Roth version of Van Halen , I think this group stands as the best. It's too bad that Eddie can't get along with anyone for more than a few albums.

Van Halen with David Lee Roth was very light and fast. Among the best stuff they did with Sammy Hagar was like this: slow and heavy. They should have concentrated on material like this. "Pleasure Dome" of F.U.C.K is another poof of that! Long Live Van Halen !

pixel has a point noone has a better performance than DLR but they both rocked in different ways . Sammy had a soft hard rock and DLR as hard hard rock i still calll it Van Hagar and van roth in my opinion DLR kicks his ass

i miss the days of turning on mtv and watching van halen and other rock and metal bands.todays mtv is gay teen reality shows and they only play music like 6 or 7 hours a week and its mostly hip hop or bands like the fray.
