Primal Outdoors - Camping and Overlanding

Күн бұрын

Living the van life, kayaking, camping and camp cooking on a small mountain lake. This will be the last trip out with the Oru Inlet Kayak this year. I love getting out and camping in my van especially when the weather is bad, it's so warm and comfortable. We did get a break in the weather and got the Oru Inlet Kayak out one last time this year.

The one thing I love about your videos, is that you aren’t a come lately to the newest things. You’ve used your knife, your chainsaw, your cast iron skillet for years. I love that. Things that work, stay in your life. You even like splitting wood! The only thing you’ve changed, is you living quarters. That is moving forward, within reason. Cheers of Pendleton. Skillet

Lone Wolf… I really enjoy Chad Living the Can Life. I’ve followed him for sometime, but if you’ve ever watched him, he buys his firewood in bundles. I’m not sure if he owns a saw. I’m watching his latest right now, he’s once again carried a nice bundle out with him. It’s always dry and burns great. Skillet

As a shelter volunteer for several years, I can tell you that Goldens and Labs, when we do get them which is not very often, don't last long before someone adopts them. For shelter dogs you need to broaden your search. I was looking for a Lab but ended up with a very sweet and loving pit bull named Missy who was the light of my life until she passed away. I used to take her camping in the mountains, too.

Every time I see Daisy she brings tears to my eyes. We had a Golden that was our life to take camping. After 16 years we had to let her rest. Grey faced and hard to get up and down was to much to bear. She will always be in our life as Daisy will be in his.

We are a little bit jealous. My wife and me made the same trips, but in europe. All the last 15 years our dog Filou accompanied us, but in november he stopped his life. In African dessert Sahara he felt in love with the dromedars and these camales where also interessted on him. The last year we put Filou in a trailer for to go by bycicle. In our Zodica he was the Captain, always stood in front of the gonflable little boat when we had our trip on seas and rivers. A little bit sad when he leave a´us. We hope that your Daisy will be in good shape for a long time, we have seen your love to this dog.... Stay healthy and thank you from germany for these videos

Love that you were able to get out with the kayak around the lake one last time before the much colder weather comes. It's a peaceful and calming scene to watch. Maybe the next season when you get the kayak out again - can you give a pan around the water line with your camera as you go kayaking by?🤔 It would be as if we were all the kayak with you, Lol. 😄 I like eye level shots/scenes of being on a lake. I do appreciate all the hard work you put into all these videos.😊💖

Beautiful as always. I appreciate being a passenger on your adventures. You may find it easier and more comfortable to paddle in windy conditions if you offset (feather) the blades. If it doesn't have pre-set detents, then somewhere around 30~45° is typically good. The twisting action to "right" the blades is pretty natural. Also, pushing with the far arm, and using the close arm more as a fulcrum, can reduce fatigue, especially on longer trips or harder paddling conditions (ex: wind, waves, less efficient kayaks). The reason being is that incorporates larger muscle groups.

My mother was full Italian, when I was young she would fry up some chicken, I think just the wings, legs and thighs and then smother it in her own marinara sauce. When the chicken was ready to fall off the bone she would serve it over the polenta. We would only have it a few times a year, we never had the chicken that way over anything else and never had polenta any other way. The next morning when the leftover polenta had setup she would slice it about a 1/2” thick and fry it in a little bacon grease then serve it like French toast covered with maple syrup . Now that’s good eats. Funny thing I had never eaten French toast , didn’t even know what it was, until I was in the Boy Scouts at summer camp. I don’t know why because both my parents were fabulous cooks.

Another relaxing beautiful spot… ahhh I needed that. Thanks for taking us along. Noticed you added the drip guards to your paddles. You may want to move them a few more inches away from the paddle ends. If you dip the paddle into the water and the guards also go below water, then I’m guessing any water on the rod past the guard can still drip down towards your hands and into the boat. I’m just guessing…
