We confess all of our Van Life Hygiene techniques to show you how we stay clean while living in a van full time. The topics discussed include: Laundry, Shower, Bathroom, Shaving, Kitchen Cleanliness, and Dentist & Doctor Appointments. Staying clean in the van is not always easy even though we have a shower in the van, our 21 gallon fresh water tank makes it a little difficult to balance showering vs drinking water and washing dishes. now that you have a hook into Walex, can you ask them to make smaller paks, something more suited for our 5gal cassette toilets as opposed to the "up to 40 gals" these paks can treat?

@@orange13 yeah we will mention it to them. Do you think it is too concentrated? We have found 0 issues with it in ours. A little bit of liquid goes a long way.

@@FarisandLisa thank you. No, I don't think it is too concentrated. But if one back is good enough for up to 40gals then a much smaller one should do for just 5gals. this would save some space and money. and less chemicals in the black tank

I lived in my 31 foot class c for eight years and I would take it camping where I wouldn't have any hook up or water. I had a bad habit of forgetting to fill my water tank. I was in the hospital and for a few day's I couldn't get up out of bed. My nurse bought me some bathing cloths and there great and works very good. I was surprised when she told me I could get them at Walmart. There called ReadyBath bathing cloths. I keep them now for emergancys evacuation as I live in fire country and camping. You get 8 in a pack and the price is right.

If you are travelling it is easier to wash as you go. Buy quick dry clothes, there lots available from sports shops, especially undies, socks and shirts. Every morning before you set off, wash the few bits you have been wearing yesterday and wring them out thoroughly. Each side of the van put up a hook and hang a simple washing line a bit of string with a eye at either end, then peg out the washing, on a hot day with the windows open, that great airflow, everything will be dry in 30 minutes. When you are parked up do the same setting up a simple line outside, the washing takes only 5 minutes, quicker and cheaper than the laundry. The upside, aside from hassle and cost saving is that you don't need so many clothes and don't have dirty washing festering. Use the laundry on wet days/winter, but waste money?

Great video! I learned about Porta Paks from one of your videos awhile back and immediately ordered some to try. It's the only treatment system I use now for the cassette, along with the lemon tablets for the grey water (both are super effective).
