In this video I'm trying to start a 1970 VW Micro Bus / Van / T2 / Bay made in 69. The van has been sitting for about 10 years, the last time it ran was when I started my youtube channel and took it for a drive and made a crappy video lol. I would like to try and fix the van up to do some off grid van camping. I had to pull the van out from where it was sitting because the shifter wasn't working and I needed space to work on it. When I pulled the van out from its spot the camera died and I missed the shot sorry. To repair the shifter I had to cut out a patch and bolted it to the shifter than I screwed it into the frame. The starter wouldn't work until I tapped it lightly with a hammer, the fuel pump is dead so I bypassed it and directly and hooked up a boat tank with a primmer bulb. The oil was clean and full and I got oil pressure before starting. Because the van is in such rough shape I'm planing on patching it up but not doing a full restore due to time and cost. The VW Van was made in 1969 its a T2 Bay Window Bus I want to do some Van camping I do a cold start on a 1600cc VW air cooled engine the Van has been sitting for 10 years but can I get it running. This Volkswagen type 2 is a upcoming Restoration project I'm Towing the van with a Kabota L2501 tractor the Off grid camp site is a plan on Van Camping in this VW micro bus I'm going to set up solar panels for the off grid site I need water refrigeration and heating will work on this project soon

Weird, if that's a 1970, someone has replaced the front panel with a later model with the up high turn signals

I think you might be right, it was manufactured in 1969. I'm still trying to figure out why it has those lights

@@kurtscottageusually after front end collisions people take the whole face off and replace it. I bet that's what happened and they used a late bay donor to fix it. That face would be for a 1974 and up bus. Cool bus though, I have a 1970 also
