I’m from Nl and he is right, most insurance company’s require bearlock (or construct which is similar). Some on all campervans independent of value, others on vans over a certain value, some only selective (eg over 20k or high demand vans like a vw transporter). Only disadvantage is seperate keys. Insurance in nl requires all keys if you claim a stolen vehicle to prove you have used the bearlock. Not all keys? Claim denied Another great safety is adding a prickstop. The ducato (and boxer/relay) are bloody easy to unlock with a screwdriver by pushing it below the lock and lever the central locking. Yt for some examples of the prickstop

They did my van a few months ago....great bit of kit, a little tip for you Will, take a photo of the key cards with the numbers on them for extra keys and email it to yourself so that way you will always have the numbers even if you lo=se the cards..

@@EnglishVeteran Yes you are correct but who will know what you mean by the random combination of numbers and letters in your e-mail. You don’t need to state in your e-mail or text message its a key code to your vehicle security system.

Now that you have a safe, the idea is to stash the valuables elsewhere and let the thieves spend their time tearing out and breaking into a empty safe.

The only problem with the diversion safe tactic in this application is the fact that the entire target can be moved elsewhere, regardless of the immobilisation 😉

When parking up just remember to reverse upto a wall/tree etc it isn't going anywhere.

This is an AWESOME product & such a great idea! I haven't seen this installed by anyone we "know" (sounds weird, but after following you for so long, I know we align on how we think about things!) Glad you're gonna have this feature, and hopefully more "peace of mind". We're getting close to finishing & keep saying to each other that we're gonna be so nervous/anxious the first few times we leave our van for more than just an hour or so. After so much time, energy, & work, its hard to imagine the heartbreak of a break-in! Stay cool 🥵

hello from the Netherlands . that man from that company may better put his facts in his head in his sales story and not hang up any lies . a bearlock is NOT required at all in the Netherlands. the facts : For motorhomes with a catalog value or appraisal value up to € 75,000, at least a factory immobilizer OR an approved mechanical gearbox lock (Construct Premium or Bearlock NRK) is mandatory. and then it also has to be a "Bearlock Benelux" lock and otherwise it is not certified for the Netherlands and Belgium. and this CAN only be a requirement of your insurer! . just like you must have an approved chain lock with a motorcycle insurance policy. and just like you can often get a discount on your insurance with a descam IF it is of a certain class and such. thanks for the video Will. Our locks are highest security you can get on the market but there is no lock on the market that can’t be picked by someone with his skills. Good news is that if someone have his skills they will not be working in car theft. Too risky business for someone with such a skill.

Nice one Will. that looks an awesome bit of kit. I think they used to have a similar system in Saabs, The ignition key wouldn't come out unless you were in reverse. Brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely looks like a necessary piece of kit because you don’t realise how much all your stuff is until it’s gone. I remember my dad did this thing to his van were the van wouldn’t start unless you turned on the windscreen wipers first? Lol but yeah, piece of mind is what it’s about and made up you’ve got yourself sorted there, Will 😎👍🏻

What a great bunch of guys. Just picture Mary flying backward through the town. If you mention your security system to your insurance company you may get a little discount. A mechanical lock like that is so much better than an electrical one which are easily by-passed. My dad was a car transporter and used to collect repos and abandoned cars. He showed me so many ways to open the locks, rewire immobilisers/alarms and start cars without keys. Its scarily easy. Safe is great idea, keep some emergency cash in it too, for fuel or the morning pain au chocolat. I wouod get yourself some foam padding for inside the safe so things dont get damaged if your on a bumpy road, sliced up old yoga mat would do the trick. Another class video mate!!! Keep them coming, I had a really bad accident in my van last week and it's unfortunately written off now. Absolutely gutted, mainly because I had put so much work into it. Although I managed to salvage the majority of my electrics and diesel Heater etc

Saab had this from the facktory and I had an American car from about 1973 with gear lock in first and revers gear. This is a nice thing to have.

When you add any security to your vehicle, put stickers showing any potential threats not to bother. Otherwise they will try and you’re left repairing broken and smashed bits.

I have a bear lock in my motorhome. The lovely Jaro and Andre fitted it when I was staying at Oaktree Motorhomes who fitted my solar and WiFi system. I feel so safe with it as who wants to drive a motorhomes backwards down a road. Theft stop are so professional I loved them 😊

Any extra security is a must, making opportunist walk away or even the more hardened criminal who might look at yours and think its not worth the hassle and moves onto an easier target. System looks great and the safe even more so, love the break off bolts.

I'd also always put a tracker on a van I can't understand why others don't do this , it's so easy to clone keys or just tow your van away , this looks a great product, your looking well young will much love brother ❤

Back in the days of air cooled Beetle engine swaps there was a company that made engine to transmission locks, they were called “The Boll Lock Company” - great name. My Subaru has a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm with a hidden keypad to prevent thefts. What about a hidden tap in the fuel line ? I put one on a Landy that I had years ago, it would run for a few minutes then stop.

A cheap thing to add is a kill switch to the fuel pump and hide it somewhere in the cab

I did this but the mechanical high pressure pump will drag the fuel through the electrical pick-up pump so this doesn't work.

I've seen a few other youtube vanners having them fitted. Its a great bit of kit and I'd love to have it fitted to viv-i-van but having had to sell a kidney to get my ECU and my adblue system replaced after they failed (1100 quid gone) she's going to have to wait for anything else. I'm that poor now I just managed to afford a ridge monkey in case I do get out in her. It will be great for you if you go abroad again. all the best, Kenny.

i'd also use a cheap steering lock (or similar) more for a visual deterrent. The Bear lock looks great but you don't want someone breaking a window getting in, only to find they can't drive forward! just something visual to put off the opportunist so they move on to the next van.

I would think you should fit stickers to show that these products are fitted, someone would do a lot of damage trying to get the van away

If I were you I'd put a sticker near the gearstick telling people it's locked in reverse and can't be moved. Otherwise a thief might break it by pulling the gearstick about forcefully, breaking something and costing you money. Just a thought.

I once lived in not so good neighborhood. My immobilizer solution was to grab the ECU with me, as it was conveniently located in passenger side wheel wall. (Saab 900) - I had it outside the upholstery connected with the cable connector only. If the thief would be equipped with Lucas made ECU, he likely would have offered the car better home than I managed to.

You need to get up to East Yorkshire and then too the moors. Look near tibthorpe there is places out the back .which have been on tv many times etc

Be careful flashing the keys on camera, it's quite simple to grab a screenshot and copy a key from a single frame. I would change any lock you have shown the key for on camera.
