Indeed! There are a few others out there...look for Max & Lee, Wild by the Mile, and Bearfoot Theory's old van (not the one she has currently). All were good inspo for our build.

Haha, appreciate the tip! Matt designs smart transportation systems for a living and has some electrical experience. We unplug the battery when we have to work on the electrical, but agree - in our next build we'll probably give ourselves a little more room to access.

Eric Yuan it is too much empty storage when one has left out the very impt toilet and/or shower .... have seen vans with it and they did NOT seem to be lacking in storage .... personal hygiene is also vital... specially when living in a tiny space ...

Oh man, thanks for the kind words XO! Nope...husband is an engineer, so everything in life is researched + measured with excruciating detail lol. He's had a little bit of experience working with wood and metal, and that probably helped through the build process. He's also one of those people who is annoyingly good at just about whatever he tries. I just like design, and occasionally, when we put our heads together, we're able to make some magic ; )

Thanks Sammi! It's true...we spent tons of time in the outdoors, but we weren't very gear-heavy at the time so we didn't need the extra garage space. Do you know about flares? If you want a short wheelbase van, but you need to sleep a taller person, they're great for extending the width of the van.

@@nataliewages8717 yes I know about flares. My OH is 6ft 3in so it's a PITA! As things stand, we can't fit even a SWB high top Ford Transit on our parking area. So until we can resolve the parking, we're stuck 😕😕

@@sammic974 We put our bed where it is bc we wanted to be able to sleep w/o our feet hanging off. If you did the same, you can make your bed as long as you want; you'd just steal a few inches from the kitchen area which is NBD. Our ceiling clearance inside the van was 6'2". If you kept the ceiling ribs exposed and only installed your finished ceiling between the ribs, you might gain enough height for your OH to stand.

Thank you! It would totally work with a pop top. We had two seatbelts at the sofa, which I think would be fine for taking friends on short trips etc, but it definitely wasn't to code for kids.

Si pasáis por algún pueblecitos pequeño preguntáis que en muchas casas se hace para ducharte y lavar ropa.. Seguro os lo regalan es magnífico pero... no hace espuma solo limpia. También se llama jabón de Castilla aún comprado es barato un euro como mucho las pastilla y a el ser caseras pesan de 250 a 300 gramos. Besos de luz y feliz vida amores!!

Hey Cheryl, thanks for the love! We insulated the walls with the sprinter insulation kit from RB Components. It looks like really thick wool panels, but it's made from recycled water bottles. For the floor we used closed cell mini cell foam strips (not spray) under the stock flooring, and then we laid our vinyl flooring on top. The wallpaper was installed on top of our 1/4" maple plywood wall, which we painted before hanging the wallpaper for added protection against moisture.

Hey thanks. Are you referring to the background noise in the video? We filmed this on the side of the road with our iPhone just to show the van to an interested buyer. If you have a need for higher quality video, better camera equipment should help.

@@nataliewages8717 Ah okay. Not at all. The video quality was great. I am talking that glass, like the cockpit or the kitchen window, provides the least sound proofing. From experience: Noise is mostly a problem if you are "vanning" and working in the city, and your lazy ass can't be bothered to commute even 300feet to a quieter spot. But I be damned, if that "no commute" part isn't addictive.

Hi Buyot, thanks for the kind words! We weren't living in it full time, and we spent most of our time in the mountains...we were squatting in bushes while camping long before we had the van. Public restrooms are plentiful in cities, and we didn't want to mess with toilet smells in a small space, nor having to dump it. All for it if you need it!

Hey Nki, thanks so much! We built the bed ourselves, not sure what to call it...it's basically like a sofa pull-out. The cost to convert your van will depend entirely on the materials you use, and where you live.

Hey Toni, thank you! We're partial to Mercedes Sprinter w/ the short wheel base + high roof, but the options for vans out there are limitless...it just depends on how you plan to use your van, how much you want to spend etc.

Hey Teri! Hard to say. It's been a crowd favorite both on the road + at our van showings. We didn't speak with anyone who didn't love it, but it's entirely possible it prevented others from reaching out. We built this van for ourselves, so wasn't thinking about resale then.

It's regular roll wallpaper. No problems with it coming off, only issue is that we scratched it up a bit when we installed our upper cabinetry. I suspect there are more durable wallpapers out there, and sealers that might've prevented that.
