Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

@@KaraandNate im gonna give u a heads up. Some towns in Arizona passed a new law. That law is requiring you to wear a mask in public. If your not wearing a mask in Phinex, Az. Its a $200 fine. So i would recommend you to check each town in Arizona to see if its required or not

As an avid RV camper I highly suggest finding an alternative, well vented, area to have your propane tank. It’s not recommended to have it in a confined space on the interior due to the potential build up of flammable gasses. Also suggest moving the grey water drain to the right side so the tank drains fully. Good luck guys!

Ester F they would need to upgrade their battery bank likely. Electric stoves, even two burner units, draw a TON of energy. That’s why even in campers and RVs you don’t see them.

For the heater situation, you could just get a heater from any store, and it plugs into the wall, and would heat up your van very well

I worked at a camp for the BSA and to conserve water that is how we would'teach'the scouts to shower. (Water on, soak up,soap up,rinse off. It works well and you can still enjoy a relatively hot shower after playing in the dirt all day. I still used that method as an adult when I had a desk job that I needed to be at by 6 in the morning. All the necessary bits still get nice and clean.

I decked out a small Toyota Lite Ace van 20 years ago and I had the same bench setup as yours. It was ok but I changed it to an "L" shaped bench which wasn't as good. I had the cupboard and TV right behind the two front driver seats (running across). So I wanted to face the TV head on instead of side on. The "L" shape bench helped in that regard but it made the interior even more cramped and "pokey". lol Now I bought another Toyota "Town Ace" and I now have a single bench right at the back (running cross wise). It faces the TV (that's in the same place) and I now have a full 5ft bench seat (instead of the two 3 ft right angle benches). And it's WAY more open than either of my other two layouts (way stoked)! The table goes in front of the bench (removable) and I have a (milk crate) seat to make it a dinette. The front cupboard (running cross wise) is only a foot high (bench seat height) and the front cupboard acts as seats as well (with the driver seats back at max and the backrests tilted forward). The table will go up long or short side and with the table length (instead of breadth) it reaches the other seat for a dinette (instead of using the milk crate as a seat). The van (in the back) easily seats 6 and most comfortably seats 4 in the back of the van (with nobody in the front driver seats). It all converts to a massive bed (the entire back of the van). Every square inch except a small opening to get out of the van (without jumping directly out of the bed). When it's in lounge room mode (no table or bed) it's so much room for a 5x7 ft space! It nearly feels "empty" and so NOT closed in. And half of the whole floor is just open floor space! Thanks to the single long bench seat across the back. If you did that to yours (and still had exactly the same bed space) it would open up the space so much more. I can't believe how spacious a 5x7 ft space can feel (and still have everything). Just that has changed my van life for good. More open floor space than a winny and yet a so much smaller van. There is another trick, I cook outside. When the back tail gate door swings up (it's a roof) and with tent material around the tail door (it's a room with standing head room) for cooking (with small portable gas stove and sink behind and under the back bench). And it's also a shower room (camping solar shower or heat water on stove). I haven't finished this van yet (all the woodwork is done) all I have to do now is the cushions and electrical stuff. But it's done enough to sit in it and be amazed in the space and comfort already.

A few tips/thoughts from a couple who made the leap into fulltiming a couple of years ago: 1. We got tired fast of making the bed every night so now just leave it in the bed formation. 2. No messing around with bedding: we use comfortable (warm to the touch) sleeping bags that we zip together to form an almost king size pouch for the both of us. They're very warm and keep us comfortable well into freezing temps. 3. The perfect heater we found is a Wave catalytic heater. Buy the legs for it and no installation is needed. Just unpack when needed. Uses no battery/electricity and is very efficient with propane. That's all for now, carry on. 🙂 Jorn and Hannah

It probably wouldn't matter. What are the odds that one of their fans is going to find their van, break into it, figure out how to get into the safe, and steal some electronics? I would argue that it's probably very unlikely.
