'Very nice Connect build, but what impressed me the most is this professional sounding interview by this fine lady! I have to wonder if she has any kind of journalism experience or such? I love the way she says, "Would you be willing to tell us about"...... and then lets the van dweller do the talking. I don't think there is a better interviewer anywhere. She's a very refined lady and has a way of making everyone feel comfortable!

I recognized this fine lady, a friend of Dee, Lady Bugout. Marie taught two of my most favorite subjects in high school. My career in the Air Force was made more interesting beyond sightseeing due to my acquired knowledge of history. Having spent sixteen years in foreign countries helped me tremendously in understanding the wonderful people, their traditions and their customs. Sharing meals and conversations was a life experience reward that deepened my love for who taught me history in my youth. Kudos to you, Marie.

Love this van. So homey and cosy. Just a little note on the outside window shade. I would only use that throughout the day to keep the heat out but not during the night. You won’t be able to drive off in case of an emergency eg someone trying to break in plus for privacy, they can always lift the shade to look inside.

Aloe-Vesta cleansing foam (1) is my favorite washing technique when not near a "real" washroom. It comes in a pump bottle and you spread the generated foam wherever you want to cleanse. I prefer to use a damp washcloth to rinse, although that is not required per mfg statement. A big advantage is not dealing with the cost and waste disposal of baby-wipes cloths. Mfg by ConvaTec, it is very mild and is widely used in nursing homes and hospital facilities. It supposedly can be used as a shampoo as well.
@marizee56153 жыл бұрын
THanks for the suggestion. I don't use a lot of baby wipes, actually. I mostly use a washcloth, water and Dr. Bronner's soap. I will look into the Aloe-Vesta foam! :-)

Excellent van, I think it's a surprise to see the amount of space. I would think it's OK to have the external cover on the window when parked with friends but if on your own then it takes away your ability to jump in the drivers seat and be on the move in an emergency 😉

That’s exactly what I thought. I used to camp in my pickup with a custom cap, both had slider windows so I could ninja into the driver seat of the truck & go. And I did have to do that once in a serious danger so the external cover was a huge red flag for me.
@michellebyrom65513 жыл бұрын
As a sun screen it only needs to be on during the day. Parking the van to face west would be enough to keep the early sun out in most places. It would be really useful for regular life when the car needs to be parked and no shade is available. Hot air escapes when the door is opened but the hardware can be hot enough to be painful.

The external shield was mentioned as a reasonable purchase on Amazon but I do not remember hearing the product name. Sorry if I missed that. I think an important part of these videos is the sharing of information and ideas of different nomads. So it helps to include product names, prices, & where it can be purchased, whenever possible. As I was filming the video and Marie was sharing all the great ideas and products she used I was thinking , "I am going to get so many inquiries on these products" and I did. Marie has been very gracious in the comments to answer a lot of these inquiries. I am working with a young man to figure out just how to either set up links or even an Amazon Affiliate account so people can order products directly and more easily if desired. I have to do this in between creating, content, interviews, answering emails and comments, as well as disputing multiple false copyright claims and dealing with You Tube corporate on another critical matrer. Whew!! I will eventually get product info added to all my videos, but it will take some time.

👍👏👏👏 another great video she has got it going in that little van, I have decided to sell the bus I get a van I've been looking for it but I need to get one that I can stand up in because of my back. Stay safe stay strong stay healthy god bless and enjoy life✌💖🌹💪👨🍳🎅🚌

Thanks so much for stopping by my friend. Standing up does certainly add to comfort, especially if you have a bad back. I have a friend who just had a roof extension added to her GMC van by Fibrene. She is really happy with the results.

Wonderful video Carol. Marie's loving spirit & ingenuity shows throughout her van build. I would like to adopted the shelf above the front seats into my van. A lot of useable space being wasted. Lots of great ideas. Thank you ladies, I am proud to call you my friends. Ms. Fee.

I feel the same way about the privilege of calling you my friend Fee. There certainly were a lot if great ideas in Marie's van. That shelve would as younsay provide so much additional storage space. Curious to see it when you have it complete. Take care
