I finally finished my Campervan after five, sweet years of adventures.
Making video's is a new hobby and I'm learning as I go, so please be kind.
Here's the spec...
2011 Vauxhall Vivaro 2900 CDTi 113 LWB, 112,758 miles
MOT 28/12/2021
Alloy wheels, colour coded wing mirrors, chrome runner bars.
Comes with 2015 50cc Moped, MOT July 2022, just serviced too. EasyLifter motorbike carrier which sits on the towbar.

ive done the same ...i feel lazy as its not finished YET . ive gone 2 times in Greece Lefkada and still was a blast . wish this year i will be able to finish it , my dream is allso to take my moped with me so me and my wife can park the van in the camping spot and explore on our scoot . Haha that hit hard when you mentioned just going out and enjoying your van unfinished 🤣. I'm in the middle of converting my swb vivaro which I still use daily for work. Plan on sticking my electric motorbike on a tow bar bike rack for some adventures too.

Having immediately enjoyed your enthusiasm and authenticity, I then immediately wanted to discuss purchasing it and sent a message via the selling site. Hi Philippe, you're correct the van did sell last year. I'm currently building another one but rather slowly as I've had a number of personal things to deal with this year. I have some videos of my progress on this channel and I hope to pick up the pace again in November to get it finished. It won't have a scooter with it though.

What a beautifully laid out interior..not the norm set out by far. You’ve almost stolen all the available space..just needs a pop up so you can stand. Nicely done. I think you will regret selling her but good luck with your future plans. If this is anything to go by, the next build will be a sight for tired old eyes..thanks for sharing, I’m sure others will pinch a few of your ideas especially the bed.

Thank you Simon 😊 I really hope someone does pinch some of my ideas. That'll be the biggest compliment ever 🙂 I agree, a pop top would be a good addition. I considered fabricating one using fibreglass. It wouldn't be that difficult and you could easily sell the mould afterwards.

I get the impression that the next build WILL definitely be the ONE to watch for. You’ve ideas bouncing around in that noggin busting to get out..AND I think you could build a small niche business with those ideas…why sell the mould if it’s unique when you could sell the product off it..just a thought.

I'm just starting brought cheap renault trafic with basic conversion just a futon bed in the back but takes up too much space .I want a single side bed so can put scooter in back as well or have a hydratail trailer can use .I just want to be sure van is mechanically okay before puy too much money into it .

Hi, I had the same idea of scooter in the van but when I put it in the empty van I was surprised at how much room it required 😱 It sure is a good idea to make sure the van is healthy before getting involved 😅. Good luck with it all.

We have a Vivaro campervan took me only a few weeks, but still improving little bits..as you do. I had a 50cc Peugeot scooter on the back, but sold it after a heart attack. One reason for my illness was lack of exercise, driving and then scootering, so now we have bikes and feel a lot better. What do you eat with no table? Why do you have a fridge and freezer if you don't cook and eat? We have a cold box to keep the butter and milk, which only runs with the engine and we cook every day. Everything runs off the car battery, no problem. You have a great spec basic van (6 door LWB), cant see how the fit out works. Outdoor cooking in the UK, really??? My shower is a £35 hozelock, boil a kettleful of water and top up to 5 litres and two can shower, use a car mat to stand on. We have a standard wheelbase 5 door and now we travel with a cat and growing dog, its getting a bit cramped. Different approach though, each to their own.

Nice job - how did the insulation work out? Thinking about a vivaro to convert as day van for biking, hiking and messing around it. Plan was to insulate, maybe install a heater and see what works. Your insulation approach was interesting so curious how it worked out and I also don't see a roof vent or anything so how does that work? Does it get stuffy or have you a trick somewhere for air flow? Nice job!!

Hi, in my experience having a vivaro, it's a great van to convert. The insulation is perfect for both sound and temperature. Obviously the windows make up a large percentage of any vehicle and will need to be adequately insulated for temperature control at night. I have seen a company doing double glazed glass for vans, but I imagine the weight of these is restrictive. It's a very valid point about ventilation in such a well insulated van. I would recommend you install a roof vent or at least to fit wind breakers over your front windows so you can leave them open a little at night even in rain. You can buy Chinese diesel heaters for under £100 and they're great. I've done a video on my installation in the vivaro kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bNegqM1l3dergas.html

I think for this project I want to keep the overall height as low as possible for barriers and car parks. More a stealth camping / one or two day adventure van. Thanks Ian 😊 Originally I made the bed frame out of wood and then decided I wanted a metal frame, so I took the wood one to a place that makes gates etc and they knocked it up for me at a reasonable price.

Nice conversion, pity you had to sell it. I have the same year van and completed the conversion during the first lockdown. I also fitted a tow bar and I have a Vespa GTS300, but it is way too heavy for the scooter rack that you have, I might have to buy a monkey bike or similar. :)

They're a great van. I loved having the scooter, especially when I toured Italy. I'm looking at some kind of electric alternative this time. A bike or a scooter (I love the One Wheel but I'd kill myself)

Hi Nigel, I absolutely love your conversion, i wish i had the cash to buy it, could you tell me where you bought your awning from, i have a 2015 trafic with the same sliding door as your van but i have a tail lift door on the rear, so i was thinking i could just put an awning on mine and sleep in the awning.

Hi Gary, I bought the awning a few years ago, so I don't think you can get that exact one anymore. This is similar and the same make amzn.to/3Arew9y If they do a fitted carpet/footprint for it, I recommend you get one of those too. It makes a huge difference.

Hi Kieron, I bought the curtain rails from my local caravan shop and used a heat gun to shape them to the contours of the roof and bonded with sikaflex. It's easier to take the roof lining out to do this. The blackout curtain material was from eBay.

Hi, I did the front seats (no foam needed) and the rear couch/bed at the same time. It was a long time ago but I think it came to about £1,100. A lot of money, I know, but it totally transformed the build.

For the swivel did you just unbolt the base and turn it round?

Hi, yes. The bolts are incredibly long though, so a small cheap power driver makes quick work of it. Don't forget to unplug the yellow airbag cable under the seat.

Hi Andre, It's super easy. There's a screw on three corners and one in the middle at the back. You'll want to buy a cheap and small battery powered driver to undo the screw (it's a hex bit but I'm not sure what size) as they're very long. One of the back corners can only be unscrewed after you remove the seat (you'll see what I mean) but you'll still need to unscrew it so you can use the hole to secure the seat once swiveled. Don't forget to unclip the yellow clip under the seat before moving and tuck it under the floor mat to keep it safe.

Hello, I bought blackout material from eBay and stitched the edges myself. It was quite easy and didn't take long. Hi, try your local camping/caravan shop. That's where I found mine and they had a choice of styles to suit your fitting needs. I used a heat gun to mould in to shape.

Hi Steve, I bought the scooter from directbikes.co.uk and they were almost half the price they're selling for now. The carrier is from easylifter.co.uk I got lucky and picked up a second hand one.

Hi Gary, I have a cassette toilet. When 'wild camping' it fits between the bed and side door at night. When pitched with the awning up, It goes nicely in the tunnel between the van and the awning, which is private. I also could use the shower tent, but I never have...too far to walk in the middle of the night 😁

Hi Usman, it's a great van to make a campervan. Good on fuel, low maintenance costs, reliable and cheap on parts of you need them. Also, it's now a popular van to convert so there's lots of companies making campervan furniture etc for them.
