Thanks for this, just helped me sort mine. Strangely I still have one door that does it's own thing, must be a wiring issue at the fuse box end. Ended up just disconecting the door LOL

Since you have the back door panel off and messing with the locks... you should make a lock pull for the back door so you can open the door from the inside like the ones the have for car trunks now.

The green units are from the later T4/Eurovan and are available as genuine items from VW (The T3/Vanagon units are obsolete but are the same externally in all but wire connections). The EBay units _are_ Chinese specials, but work well and can be found for about $15-20. Genuine VW are $100+. I replaced my 2 masters with the eBay units some years ago and they still work well, and have a couple more ‘in stock’ to replace the other two. In fact I’ve been meaning to replace the rear hatch as it often does the opposite of the rest of the locks!
