Just like it says in the title - we installed a cedar tongue and groove ceiling in our van! Here's how we did it....

The best ceiling installation video I have seen. I am in the process of doing my own van conversion and have been. Pondering how I was going to carry it out. I will follow your idea.

Thank you for your videos. I have watched them all. I especially like how you pay attention to possible annoying noises when driving. We are planning our van build in March when our North Carolina winter hopefully goes away.

Following along, you're doing great! How'd you wire your puck lights on the two dimmer? I'm looking to do the same (on by side door one by back/bed) and am hoping to put a switch on the dash too. Trying to wrap my head around it, info from others always helps!

Actually only use one dimmer. 2 together conflict and will only dim from one. I bought my stuff from superbrightleds.com call them and they'll explain it!

Very helpful video! What finish did you use for the cedar (stain/oil etc..)?

We use General Finishes Satin - very easy to use and almost no odor! Used it on the ceiling, trim, and bamboo countertops. Great video! However, your video cut out just as you were about to explain how to secure the front ends of the planks to the bulkhead. Is there any support up there or is it just dangling?

Not dangling. They are under tension from being attached to the fireing and cirved against the framing of the ceiling. I finished the front end by drilling and pinning a complimentary piece of trim across the front, perpendicular to the ceiling boards. Hopes this helps!

Which cedar from Home Depot did you use? Is it 1/4” thick or thicker?

It's the 5/8 knotty. Just remember to use extra firring to ease the strain on the boards when they start to dive down toward the front windshield!

looks great. I didn't catch if you mentioned what length of screws you used to fasten the cedar planks to the wood braces?

They vary because the firring is different thicknesses. Just measure your ceiling material thickness plus the thickness of your firring and you'll be good!
