It's because it's Vanderbilt, which has a reputation for being difficult to get accepted to, so they all probably feel lucky for getting accepted with their scores because they know there's always someone with a higher score just right around the corner.

Only 2.7% of their admitted students had a score lower than 1400 and out of that, practically all of them are either development cases, athletes, or otherwise hooked. Unfortunately, universities don't care GPA,SAT,AP scores they just look for stellar extracurriculars.

It’s one of the 2 majority college board exams. It’s also the most popular. 1600 is perfect. It’s split into math and reading/writing. The other test is the ACTs with is out of 36. It’s split into 4 categories. I did way better on my ACTs, so I went to a school that used those scores.

A lot of colleges don't require it, but you will want to take it for scholarships

A lot of colleges stopped requiring it in 2020 and haven’t brought back the requirement since (there’s been a push to get rid of the test entirely).

Well they remodeled the scoring system so a perfect score is 1600. But yeah it makes it so weird to compare to old scores and it looks like suddenly everyone started doing terrible in 2016 when the scores changed 😂.
