You’ve got to try Borb Oliver B7 mouthpiece. These are made in Brazil with composite material. I believe the “B” series has been inspired by Dukoff mouthpiece. Perhaps B is a tribute to Bobby Dukoff. I tried some of their mouthpieces and I was very impressed with B series for both Alto and Tenor.

Hi Sirvalor! Thank you so much for your videos brother! It is a huge help. I have a question, do you prefere alto Meyer mouthpieces or the Vandoren A6s+? How about the facing? Can I trust vandoren facing? Thanks heeps bro! Just to know that your work is so muc appreciated! All the best man!

Man, sounds killin'! Funny enough, a couple months ago I ordered one of those (and an A5- M to 'A-B' them) but UPS lost the damn package. Now I really want to get my hands on it.

Yet another amazing review! I am looking for a 6M. Which could be the main difference with 6 S+ ?? Probably too dark? Or what? Honestly, now I am a bit confused in my choice. Thank you!!!!

I like this mouthpiece too although I like the A7 better with the medium chamber

I play an A7 S+ V16 with my Vintage Reborn Alto....man it screams!! And can play nice and warm when I need it. Mine however came with a slight bump on the inner rail close to the tip that I filed down carefully to even it out. It happens sometimes. Vandos are generally very consistent though.

I would have sent it back but......It is great way to learn how to tinker with mouthpieces.

@@Sirvalorsax well I have done work on mpc before and started experimenting before a bit opening chambers, thinning rails and adding baffles so It was pretty simple, and it played great already and after seems to play pretty much the same.

I was wondering how those compared to other similar mouthpieces, thought about getting one but didn’t, and then also was thinking of trying the #56 that Dr. Wally talked about, but didn’t do that either. Still using Rico mouthpieces on alto without issues, but could use some more seasoning.🤔🥳 👨🏻

I was looking into the tenor version of the WindyCity mpc. I'm still not really sold on 3D printed mouthpieces yet though....

@@Sirvalorsax hi Sir, hope all is well .. honestly, I’ve become a bit of a mouthpiece snob on tenor after I got through a few years on it. It’s metal pretty much all the way with me on tenor. Some non-metal is ok, for a spell, but I always go back to the Otto Link vibe on it. But on alto, I’m much more open minded, but I like HR or a good plastic. I tried a Dukoff silver D8 and it wasn’t feelin it. I know what you mean. My thought is the syos pieces are too pricey and I’m not impressed by what I’ve seen. The wcw piece is more in line price wise, and seems to sound like it’s worth a go. If it sucks, I guess I could bust Wally’s chops bc I trust his judgement to some degree and I probably wouldn’t have considering it otherwise. Take synthetic reeds for example. I hate them, but Legere is ok. DW came to the same conclusion, so I’m going out on a limb and trusting him on this one. Also his sound concept on alto is similar to mine, so I would gravitate toward the same alto mpc dimensionally. 🥳 If and when I get one, I’ll give you a brutally honest assessment.😉

Try the windy city woodwinds "56" would love to hear the comparison. PS it comes in very cool colors, 3D printed, made from dental filling material.

the 56 is PLA, GetASax is the dental resin one. Both great brands!

Hey nice video.. Here in UAE I have D'Addario Rico Graftonite this mouthpiece locally available. Please let me know whether D'Addario mouthpiece is any good. if yes then which one A3 or A5. Am a beginner Alto Sax player.

What do you consider to be the darkest alto mouthpiece? I've been pondering trying an Otto Link Tone Edge 5, but have heard of more expensive ones like Morgan 3C and Jody Jazz HR Custom Dark.

The V5 is the darkest from Vandoren in my opinion. As far as jazz mouthpieces go.

I don't have either of these for tenor sax, and I only have the S+ for alto. The S+ is more resistant than any other Vandoren that I have

You have a large mp collection. How many of them do you play regularly. I have several mp and I only play about 3 of them. I play a Gaia 80%, Slant Sig2 15% and Ambika2 5%. The rest just sit in a drawer or get put in a case with horns I rarely play. I don't want to get rid of any because I don't know what the future holds. I wonder how many pieces a player like you actually plays. Thanks

When I was working on cruise ships I had so many different types of gigs where I would play a bunch of them depending on the acoustic settings. For recordings, it also depends on the acoustic setting of the room I'm in. For really long shows, I had some designated for those so realistically I regularly play 95% of them. Keep in mind though, I am a professional sax player.
