For you all who are commenting on the growling or emotionalism involved in black "Chuch" singing, ...don't if you don't worship in a black church...and let's remember that this is a homage to the Queen of "Soul" she would appreciate this delivery...which is why these particular individuals were invited. Loved it!...because I understand it!

@@jeanettejamison1045 Yes I saw that but the God we serve is more powerful than any of those devils sitting amongst the congregation. My guess is the vessels singing these gospels songs need to go back repent, fast, lament, and be baptized by the Holy spirit.
@narvelancoleman38136 жыл бұрын
I understand it.....been in the Black Church Going Experience for 65+ years! There is a difference singing from your soul under the anointing of the Holy Spirit...and I also recognize over squalling, trying to out-perform, out-sing, and out-do the next one or the one before! There is a lot of that going on here.....PERFORMING...not CELEBRATION!! When Aretha sang, and when she went into her ad libs...she would put that preacher sermon, soulful moaning that came from the DNA she got from her father, Rev. C. L. Franklin; and Mother Africa! She was melodic, in tune, on pitch and you could understand what she was singing! When you start squalling and sounding like a cat being strangled....that is something totally different!

Nobody can deny that black Americans are self established but unfortunately no matter how much it upsets some of you like yourself, your culture has some similarities to African culture, and it doesnt take anthropology studies or any other specialities to see this.I doubt that most Africans are cut up about their heritage and desperately want to take yours.

This is a reminder that we are not alone. This is a reminder of how rich the fabrics of our lives are.... Our lives are woven with happiness, pain, joy, tears, faith, strife and bound together by God’s grace and mercy to allow us to worship and praise him for all that HE has done! Nothing in this life is promised or guaranteed. We each need to know that we never walk alone, and God never ever leaves our side. Whatever the situation look back on those precious memories to see how far God brought you through! Thank God for Jesus! Thank HIM for the Holy Spirit! Tears are not a sign of weakness, they are a way to release that burden that binds you. God is giving each of us a testimony, so go tell that to remind them that God is the beginning and the end. Nothing that we go through is in vain, Hallelujah!

They're in the band looking around like they lost @ 9:04 and throughout the praise session...like what is this? What are they doing? See they don't know Yah like we know him. I’m so glad I can appreciate this clip for what it is...a soulful homecoming and not a talent, singing, or fashion contest. Most people in the comment section are very unaware of what mourning & travailing sounds like and while I pray for these youths (thinking more about hair color and screams): Lord, turn their mourning into dancing when their time comes because it’s coming and the last thing many will be thinking about is what they look or sound like. These legends came for Aretha!!
