This is the reason why I love Vaniah's music. He uses a lot of Samoan ancient proverbial expressions (Chief oratory language) in his music. Very rare and unique. As a Samoan who now lives in the US, I miss listening to these proverbial expressions and the Chiefs using it in traditional occasions. 😢

This song is about fishing. "Tuli atu" translates to Tuna Chasing. It's a right of passage for Samoan boys/youth to learn this skill (catching tuna) in order to be Skilled fishermen that can provide for the family and the village community. Vaniah is singing about how the chase is done, and that it's just one part of being SAMOAN Man.

I’m Tongan and this makes me teary. I’m a huge fan of the old Samoan songs for years. This has an ancient tone which seem relatable even though I have no idea what it’s saying as I’m learning the lyrics. Love it so much! His songs are always lit! ❤️🙏🏾✨

@@iafetafaapusa 💯 I don't wanna discourage anyone, but most Samoan music now are just reggaefication or rehashing of old medleys. I just wanna hear new songs and new tunes. Not the same old tunes rehashed in different ways.

Probably my most favorite Samoan singer right now, along with Puni of Punialava’a. Vaniah is just different and has a sound uniquely his own and is so beautiful. His lyrics are out of this world poetic and deep. Alofa atu uso and please keep making amazing music

This song reminds me of my father bless his soul. The lyrics really speaks to me and it made me think of him. He was a great fisherman that I know and also most of the people of my village new him. My father was known by his talent as a great fisherman. My father Vaitanoa M. Aga. Thank you so much Vaniah this song tells a story of a Blessed person with a great given Talent. ❤❤❤
