Every year, about 38,000 people in Australia leave their homes - and never return.
Around 2600 of them are considered “long term” missing.
It's their stories Nicole Morris know only too well.
Nicole is the founder of the Australian Missing Person’s Register and last month, she released a book called “Vanished” - a collection of true true stories behind some of the names on this long list, as told by the friends and family members who are still living the trauma of not knowing what happened.
I spoke with her about why she began the register and where the impetus came to tell the stories in the book.
