www.iFightCamp.com presents: Alexander Lavrushin, an Ashihara Karate fighter from Moscow, Russia. Two times World Champion, European and Russian Champion. In this event he fights Enrico Rogge, a German fighter; Alexander wins.
Битва Чемпионов 2, Александр Лаврушин
Alexander began training in Ashihara Karate in 1995. He was introduced to the style by Nikolay Kulakov, and instantly liked the diversity and effectiveness of Ashihara Karate, which at the time was a very new style of karate.
Later on, he continued learning Ashihara under the tutelage of Valeriy Ryzhkov.
Ashihara's technique at the beginning was close to that of Kyokushinkai Karate, but Ryzhkov and his school were actively promoting elements of clinch-fighting, leg trapping, leg sweeps, takedowns - only to find later that it was exactly where the future of Ashihara Karate had taken all other adepts around the globe.
As a result of his dedication and years of training, Alexander went on to reach ranks of the world renown full-contact fighters and has won multiple regional, national and international titles, competing in Ashihara Karate, K1 and Muay Thai tournaments and events
Alexander has been teaching Ashihara, K1, Muay Thai and general fitness since 2003 to a wide variety of students, his "I Fight" Training Camp's operations are spanning several gyms in different areas of Moscow.

Ashihara tactics and techniques were used in Kyokushinkai long before Ashihara became an established style. Hideyuki Ashihara the founder of Ashihara Karate used to be the top trainer of Kyokushinkai fighters and produced many champions including Jojo Ninomiya , the founder of Enshin Karate.

@@frankiegodinez8864 yes but the founder of this style is a student from kyokushin who is expelled because of (aside from being fearless even Sensei Oyama is afraid of this student)developing his own style which more like from Bruce Lee's Jeet Kunedo which is while(when) being attacked be sure to hit first.. While Kyokushin is more on full contact and emphasis on who's tougher than you or your opponent (lmao. No offense Kyokushin is a deadly style Sensei Oyama even killed a raging bull with this technique and also a bear? ...But why would i let my opponents hit me? They might one punched me? )... Ashihara is a derivative of Kyokushin, hence the similarity. In Ashihara you have some limited clinching, leg sweeps, some throws, and I think you can use the knees to the head - all of those (if I am not mistaken) are not part of the classic Kyokushin. You can Google for more details. What your trainer told you is true for most of the combat sports, my Muay Thai coaches say the same

@Mr440c 3 жыл бұрын
Not quite. Judo competitions have no time limit to grappling like in Ashihara. They count 3 seconds from the moment you put an open hand on your opponent. If you performed your technique too late it doesn't give any points. So you have to be really quick with throws and a Judoka would need to develop some striking skills to set up his grabs let alone learning to deal with clinch fighting that goes on for but 3 seconds and then a ref sepparates you.

Ashihara is not necessarily an off-shoot of Oyama's Kyokushin as the older Kyokushin Sempais and Senseis did learn much from Ashihara Sensei's fighting form known today as Sabaki. Ashihara's Karate is still considered Kyokushin but because when he broke away from Kyokushin , the other Sempais and Senseis - did not allowed any grabbing, sweeps, trips or throws.

The tournament was called “Battle of the champions”. Both of the fighters are champions of different past tournaments, so both qualified to enter. The promoters were responsible to match their skill level, and they thought they did. I agree with you that one fighter dominated this fight - it happens in fights.
