Thanks for the detailed review! I currently have the Javelin 2.0. I love so much about it. I have had it 8 years. It is a solid well designed pack. The biggest thing i don't like is sling pack only. I am looking at either the new javelin 18 or mystery ranch district 18 or 24. Vanquest is very underated. I have been researching for some time and these are the ones I have narrowed it down to. My wife said I should sell my javelin and I said never! The thing is a tank. Concealed carry is not bad at all in my 2.0 atleast with a full size Glock.

Funny, the 2.0 had a lot of features that would be on a wishlist for a 4.0. it is a lot more like the Maxpedition Sitka as far as pocket orientation and sling is concerned. But the clamshell opening of the 3.0 has appeal.... I could do without the conversion features....otherwise awesome construction....

have you looked into the Maxpedition Gridflux? it seems to be the “baby” mentioned in the video :) or one of the 5.11 LV10 ? or similar

I like the LV 10. It is on the list! The Grid flux I need to have closer look at, but was not sure I like the looks as much...!

Who pays over $200+ for a backpack??

I do. It is pricey, but given the materials used and the durability in tough usage scenarios it is on par with many other top tier packs. Can you get away with less? Sure. But filling up my fuel tank costs me 85$, and that will not even last a week. Going to KFC will set me back 50$ with 3 people. It is all relative and in relation to other factors.
