The official handover ceremony of the new presidential palace, the new ministry of finance and economic management building opposite the port vila market, and the extension of the ministry of foreign affairs office building in independence park took place on July 1st, 2024.
The handing over of these three projects, fully funded by the Chinese government as a grant, occurred at the compound of the New Presidential Palace in the Joint Court area.
Prime minister Charlot Salwai stated that these projects are a testament to the strong relationship between China and Vanuatu as key development partners.
