So, as someone who owns this game, and has legitimately finished it, let me spill some trivia for all the UNWASHED MASSES WHO DARE TO NOT KNOW OF THE GLORY THAT IS TOTAL DISTORTION. 1) the Game Over song is literally called "You Are Dead, Dead, Dead". I imagine the composer had no idea of the memes that would ensue. 2) getting money is infinitely easier and faster than getting fame, so pick that goal if you want to speedrun this piece of shit. 3) only go to sleep if you are extremely confident that you can beat the minigame, because if you fuck it up you will be in an even worse state than you were before trying 4) Joe Sparks, the mastermind of this, LEGIT hates this game. he may have made this disaster but overall he's a pretty cool dude.

To add on to the trivia, I had read that the game is also kind of unfinished. The biggest example is that the Guitar Warriors refer to the "Metal Lord", and you can find notes referencing that the Metal Lord is planning an invasion of Earth... and that's it. Nothing else in relation is in the game, it's assumed that stopping him would have been one of the game's objectives but had to be dropped at some point in development.

@@ExaltedUriel Even worse is how lackluster the ending itself is. All you get is a shitty trophy for all your work and a song either berating or praising you, depending on how well you did. What a beautiful game. My man Joe should be proud. There is also the classic game Spaceship Warlock that he did beforehand, which is very close in style to Total Distortion as well, but has been completely forgotten unfortunately.
