Varkala is filled with resorts, home stays and hotels.. while the crowd is all around the North Cliff, I suggest stay in south cliff and visit north cliff to cafés and parties. This way, you can have a secluded peaceful stay and enjoy the cafés in the evening..
I stayed in the South cliff in a resort called Seashore Beach Resort. This place was spacious and comes with a cafe within the premises. With sea facing rooms and cafe, it is the best place to stay in Varkala. Not to forget, it has access to the beach and quite secluded that nobody visits this part of the cliff..
