Adapted & Directed by Studio aka's Marc Craste, VARMINTS (2008) is a 24 min film based on the award-winning book of the same name by Helen Ward (Templar 2007) and illustrated by Marc Craste.
In the face of overwhelming urbanization, indifference and recklessness, a small creature struggles to preserve a remnant of the peace he once knew. His selfless acts of love plant the seeds of change that will ultimately prove the salvation of his world. But at what cost to himself.
Nominated for a BAFTA, Shortlisted for an OSCAR.

I remember this! My class called him Vernon, and the person he met in the elevator we named her Velma, and the funny thing was that we thought Vernon had love interests in Velm

Same. I got to watch this in school but not the whole video, and I saw some people with their eyes tearing up in class. After that day I found it on youtube and watched the rest, my teacher told me and his class the video has a happy ending. When I finally saw the end I cryed😭.

So poignant. What a beautiful story. My 9 year old came home talking about this with such verve. Children are wonderful they are the future. We all have responsibility to look after the planet until them who truly have hope and care will make the difference. 🙌
