I don’t know why I keep getting comments saying autofire is cowardly or autofire is cheating, but you will not find a replay of someone playing this without autofire except very dark corners of the internet. Varth is one of the least buttons friendly games where you constantly smash/wiggle the stick and would have to mash fire like crazy minus the laser weapon. Show me one replay where autofire isn’t used, I dare you.

its a great game. can play it arcade accurate for the first time at home now on MiSTer. (besides the rare chance you already own the arcade hardware, that is ^-^ )

i did no deaths legit that means no continue even if u finish the game the game still continues but on a higher difficulty

Admittedly autofire does make it MUCH easier, I’m not really offended by people complaining about autofire but surprised by how many seem to care that much. This game must have been a nightmare for an operator somewhere on this planet given how it promotes mashing fire and the stick constantly. Anyhow, this game is a real endurance session, you don’t get many lives but you have lots of resources/bombs if you wiggle movement quickly to recharge them faster. I could have also made things harder going with Fixed pods, but some people live by those, so to each their own I suppose. Cheers 🍻
