Meaning in English:
Om, Let me meditate on the reflection of water,
Oh, person of ocean blue, give me higher intellect,
And let the God of water illuminate my mind.
Praying to Lord Varuna alleviates water shortage and helps to overcome water related problem.
Lord Varuna is one of the Trinity of the Vedas. He was originally the god of Rta (universal law and celestial order) during the vedic period. He is the supreme keeper of law and cosmic order. Hence Varuna Gayatri is a very powerful mantra that can be used to bring order to your house, family, body, career, education, etc. Since Varuna is also the lord of the waters, it is said chanting the Varuna Gayatri can ward off any harm from water.
Varuna Gayatri is also very beneficial for couples who are always quarreling or having disagreements between them, because the Varuna Gayatri increases the love between man and woman. It is good for newly weds as well as husband and wife who have been married for long.
Likewise chant Varuna Gayatri to get rid of disorders in your body and mind. It is a very powerful mantra and can be chanted at any time of the day.

my religion is roman catholic, but out of nowhere i was dreaming about a god and he was in water. it was really a random dream. so i googled it and what appeared in results was Varuna. i dunno what it means and why was i dreaming about it

Varuna means water. Dev means God. So VarunDev is the God of Water. You might want to listne to this mantra and tell your intentions or wish regarding rain or water requirement, if any, while listning to this mantra everyday. If you dont resonate with this at all then google Vishnu Bhagwan and reseach on him....he also resides in water . Jai Shree Krishna 🙏🏻

He turned the turtle to stone along with himself to save humanity and a 100' snake biting itself to stone anyways he is trapped in stone and his artifacts are being stolen . ML SK Canada Who do I call. I believe in God but I tried the mantra no luck

Does anyone know that "Varun" is a sanskrit word for Ocean & "Dev" is a sanskrit word for God, meaning #Oceangod, the youngest son of mata Aditi(mother of creations & God's or devas) & Rishi Kashyap. In southern side of India he is know as #Samudradev while in northern side of India he is know as #Varundev.

@@shauryajagath6722 yaa samudra devata also known as ratnakara is god of ocean, manimekhala is goddess of sea, apah are group of vedic water goddesses, parjanya devata is vedic god of rains, ganga yamuna kaveri godavari even saraswati etc all these are goddesses of rivers, bhrahmaputra is god of river which is in northeast india. Varuna devata is god of all water bodies he is the king under whom all the water deities, water demons, fishes and aquatic animals work to maintain natural order. His devine spouse is known as Varuni she is goddess of liquor. Even besides the watery ocean of earth varuna devata presides over celestial oceans like Garbhodaka ocean, ksheera samudram and all. Even he holds noose like yama(death) and rides on makara symbol of kama(desire/love making= birth) thus he also presides of the metaphysical Samsara the cycle of rebirth-redeath which is symbolically equated to ocean called bhavasagara =ocean of existence. Thus he is also god of metaphysical and material water bodies. He is also the god of rta the cosmic order and stability. In vedic era varuna and indra both represent 2 different aspects of kingship. Indra represents valour and war skill, Varuna represents order stability.
