I’m an American and 8 yr. U.S. Army Vet and love this kind of training! I now have 40 acres, my own private range and no neighbors! I have been thinking about renting a backhoe/front end loader and building a more dynamic range like this! Even add a couple junk cars. I also have realized just how ignorant I am of firearms and Europe! The Fins seem to be very “American when it comes to their firearms! LOL I love it! Not knowing the language I still understood everything the instructor was saying! Funny, we Military and Veterans are all fluent in Gun Language!

Franck B. Do they have strong self defense laws too? Meaning are they able to carry and use their firearms for self/home defense? Or are they allowed to own them but they must remain locked up and only for “sporting” use?
@perkeleentunari7800

@@GrumpyGenXGramps Hunting and sporting only, self/home defense counts as unnecessary force & manslaughter. Semi-auto rifle permit for sports takes 1 year, pistols 2 years of recorded training etc. Most Finns learn basic gun safety culture as conscripts in the military... It's maybe not the number of guns, but patience and/or training that is the basis of the safety :)

@@perkeleentunari7800 thanks for the info!. As an American it’s easy to take our 2A Right for granted. Learning how other “free” Western Countries treat firearms, ownership and use is eye opening. Same with self and home defense. Especially watching the world around us! At times It seems to be spinning into chaos!

@@GrumpyGenXGramps in finland there are no laws defending yourself with firearm like in the U.S and no weapons allowed to carry in the public for self defense (transport is ok if they are in a bag or hidden etc) there is the law for "emergency protection" and as far i understand they are pretty much all judged individually but atleast in theory you could lawfully use a firearm to protect yourself if the threat to your life was imminent/the bad guys were shooting at you or something like that(its about using equal amount of force) but like in the U.S just buying a gun for home defense is not a reason to own a gun in finland aka you wont get a permit for that cause for example i have 2 guns rifle and a shotgun and at the local police station when i got the first permit they told me to get a gun safe before i get the permit for my first gun then i bought a cheap like sheetmetal safe and showed them the receipt and that was ok in finland it is not required by to law to have a safe is you own less tan 5 guns or one of ERVA guns aka semiautomatic rifles that can hold more than 10 rounds in magazine(ak,ar) or pistol but now i have these 2 guns and they(police,authorities) dont really give a shit once you have gone through the process only if you you know get in trouble with the police and do something stupid then depending on your crimes they will again evaluate your case like "should this guys have a weapon permit?"

Finns aren't related to Vikings, they aren't technically Scandinavian, though Finland is lumped into the Scandinavian nation do to geography, they are linguistically ( and I believe genetically) more closely related to Lithuanians and Latvians.

Niih. Molemmissa on puolensa. Vaikka .22 pistooli kyllä palvelee tehtävänsä tälle matkalle täysin 95% tilanteissa. Omista kavereista kolme on tarjonnut uhkana asetta mikä on rauhoittanut tilanteen. Yksi kaveri ampunut ja ikävä kyllä uhri tuli. One shot ylävartaloon pikatilanteessa.
