Vashti Bunyan and her partner were driving to Scotland from London in a horse drawn wagon when she composed this album so it’s very genuine in a natural and sublime way based on sense,emotion,and experience.

This album makes me think of Christmas postcards with Robins and snowy landscapes and children playing in snowy fields.

Ah these songs... Take us to a simpler life. I love them and we need more of them today. Always a joy to play them in my piano :)

the most beautiful song ever made

I have a story that I made up to go with this song, Basically, it’s about a poor family (mom, dad, daughter) and the daughter really wants a cat, but her parents think it’d cost too much money to raise one (litter, toys, food, etc) the daughter keeps waiting for one and the seasons pass. One night, the daughter is getting ready for bed and she hears something scratching at the door. She opens it and there’s a kitty cat “on the doorstep waiting to be fed” the parents walk over and look at each other, then nod. She looks up at them, and the picks up the cat. She brings it inside and feeds it.. something. And the cat goes up to bed with her.

This is so beautiful! As the sun starts to come out during another awful lockdown in the UK this song gives me hope :)
