Vasily Podkolzin got drafted in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks 10 overall. At the time, he had a contract signed with his team in the KHL, which delayed the time he could enter the NHL. He made his debut in the 2021-22 season, the first full season since COVID, he played 79 games and scored 14 goals. He notched 12 assists for a total of 26 points, which is a good start for him. He did have some powerplay time this year and was able to capitalize on it. Hopefully, he'll become a part of the core for the Vancouver Canucks.

Started a little slow, but caught fire towards the end. Quite impressed with his development. He is becoming a pretty good defensive player. And the rest of his game is coming along. Took some big strides. Gets fifty points this year I will be happy. He gets more well... He showed he has a good shot. Even though he started slow you could see him improve what looked like every game. Won't even say anything about his points. Became very reliable. He played on the power play at times, killed penalties.

Nuck fans seldom agree with each other but Podkolzin is absolutely loved here. I honestly think he might end up the most loved out of this core. The kid plays the right way.

Soon as he got top six minutes with JT or Petey, the kid exploded. I have no doubts he will be a top 3 value from the 2019 draft. Unlike guys more hyped, he's already an above average defensive player.

I think once he finds his line that he'll be a great player. he was moved all over the place in the KHL and mainly the first time where he stayed on the same team for a whole year without being moved down or up the KHL. Can't wait to see how he does next season.

Took this guy as my last pick in my pool this year. He was projected to have a breakout year. Man is he struggling. Cant even stay in the lineup :(

Pretty clear that Podz and Garland have good chemistry together. You could put all 3 of Bo, JT, Petey and it would make a good line.

Wonder if he'll get time as the puck handler on the 2nd PP, or be the shooter from the right side boards. With a wrister like that I could see him beating many a goalie clean from the circles. Excited to see what he can become!
