Out of all of them he actually takes the time to smell the flowers. A man who's enjoying life and loves living in the moment. Classic Ivanchuk. Would love to play this man a game of chess. Would be a dream come true. I'd lose in about 45 seconds but still, lol.

There is only one Chucky - crazy, brilliant, temperamental, and unabashedly passionate about chess and life. Unlike most top GMs he doesn't appear to give a damn about his rating and will play anyone, anywhere, anytime. On his bad days, he'll crash and burn spectacularly, but on on his best days, he will crush any player alive. This was one of his best days! Congrats to GM Vasil Ivanchuk, the new World Rapid Champion!!

@@kasparov9 he's known as Planet Ivanchuk ... on his day, he's on his own planetary level. Kasparov feared him the most, unpredictable and got crushed by Ivanchuk in Linares 1991. That's probably the most painful defeat from Kasparov.

Basic knowledge. You'll find it back in the ancient philosophy, when they discuss the difference between a human and an animal. Or between a human and a barbar. And in the eastern philosophy too. F.e. such a behaviour at a Go-World-Championship is unthinkable.

Not possible. Because it's not "my" theory. It's basic knowledge. It's better you and Magnus start to thought about the importance of good behaviour in a competition. It's important for the society or in case of Magnus for the image of chess.

He is like Rashid Nedhmetdinov who too was Russian Federation multiple chess & checkers Champion, who beat many chess Grandmasters (including Mikhail Tal) but somehow never attained a GM level. His games were some of the most fantastic combinations I have ever seen. Ivanchuk must be our modern Genious. Too bad Ukraine is not letting him travel abroad as he has not reached 60 and thus is "military capable"
