Vast and eager market for durians in China, says Mohamad Sabu

Malaysia is focussing on China to export fresh durians because there is a vast market and interest there for the king of fruits, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu told the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (July 1).

If you let the Durian to be imported to China what's the point where tourists come to Malaysia and look for Durians? If China comes to Malaysia and looks for Durians then they'll spend a lot of money here which is good for Malaysia. You need to open a durian festival in Malaysia(every state should do it) so the tourists and big investors can come here and try it. The local also spend money to eat Durian. Make it a festival and holiday where everyone go eat and enjoy it. The hotels, the transportation and many more will benefit from it. If bak kut teh can become a Malaysian traditional cuisine why not Durian??? Do you know how to do marketing or not??? Other countries also can try it too not just targeting China.

Is there any nutcase consumer activist out there? Please organised some kind of protest to prevent Malaysian having to pay a higher price for whatever leftover lower quality durian!!! Why and on what issue, one may ask? This issue here is Malaysian should not be deprived of the best of the best of our beloved Musang King, Black Thorn, and many other varieties AND settled for the second best but at a higher price of our own product!!!! 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Alhamdulillah... Pertanian, buah buahan di Malaysia boleh di jadikan sumber ekonomi kerana ALLAH SUBHAANAHU WATA'AALAA kurniakan kepada Malaysia dan Indonesia tanah yang subur... Bukan sahaja Durian... KURMA pun dapat hidup subur di Malaysia ni... Dulu tak hidup kurma... Kalau ALLAH SUBHAANAHU WATA'AALAA Inginkan, semua boleh jadi... Don't expect the whole of China to eat Durian. The population is 1 bil +++ If 60% unemployed there's still 400 mil ++ people. If 200 mil would like to travel. Let's say 10 mil - 50 mil people come to Malaysia per year is considered good already. Last year how many? All come to buy Durian ka? 😂

What will happen is the rakyat will be paying for 3rd grade fruits that will be expensive or maybe more than what foreigners will be paying for grade one fruits . The few dealing in the durian business will get rich and the rest will have to sacrifice by paying more or eating less . And there is no guarantee that the Rakyat will benefit from the foreign exchange coming in .
