Vauxhall Corsa SRi VX-Line First Drive

Apologies for the slightly later upload, today has been rather busy! Anyway, on to this - the Vauxhall Corsa SRi VX-Line. That's a bit of a mouthful isn't it? Apart from being a mouthful, this models serves as a halfway house between the standard SRi and the full-fat VXR.
It may look like a hot hatch but it won't really go like one, but that's not the car's aim. What it aims to do though is to offer buyers - particularly younger buyers - a chance to get a sporty looking hatch, but without the high running costs.
You can either get this model with a 1.0 litre or a 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol, or you can have the engine tested here - the 1.3 litre turbocharged diesel. It may offer good economy, but can it still deliver fun? Find out here.

Been driving this for 14 months now, watched this video before I bought it lol, exact same model except it’s a 1.4L petrol, 2017 too. it was my first car so Its difficult to gauge how good it is because I’ve not driven anything else. But it is so smooth to drive and it just handles so incredibly well in the city especially when you use the city button . I can’t imagine there being an easier car to drive than this you can effortlessly steer it with your pinky finger (I do not recommend though), just an overall effortless experience. Also for 14 months I have not had to do anything except change a headlight bulb for £11 and it had 27k on the clock when I bought it. The only negative about it is the lack of power, you can definitely feel this on dual carriageways when you’re trying to get up to speed

Hello everyone, thank you so much for watching this video. I just wanted to add on a bit of extra information in regards to the engines. As mentioned there is indeed a turbocharged 1.4 litre petrol, but there is also a naturally aspirated 1.4 litre petrol as well, which offers 74bhp or 89bhp as opposed to 99bhp offered in the turbo unit.

They reworked the cams and made it more economical over the previous model.But it effected the performance by 1.5 seconds .1.4 is the one to go for 90 bhp.Turbo is better for motorway commute.

I actually have a 5 door 2016 corsa SRi, it isn’t the VX line as I don’t think they did a 5 door VX line. That said though, I have the 1.4 non turbo engine, it’s VERY good compared the older Vauxhall engines. VVT helps it a lot, I’ll admit I am a bit of a speed freak, the corsa may not get your adrenaline pumping but you’ll definitely have fun with it. I can get 90mph in 3rd gear. I do have some minor modifications though, performance air filter and sport backbox. I’ve only driving for just over a year, this is my 3rd car. First car was a 2004 Fiesta, the fiesta was more fun in the corners but the corsa is definitely more comfortable. £20 gives me half a tank of fuel and annual road tax is only £30 so for value for money, the corsa SRi is a car worth checking out

I have a 2017 5 door one of these in Sovereign silver, absolutely love it. Slightly wrong about the engine variants in the video as you can also have a 1.4L N/A 75PS and also a 1.4L N/A 90PS. Mine's the latter.

Hello Matt, thanks for watching. I checked Vauxhall's online configurator at the time, and those engines weren't on there, so not sure what's happened there.
