VAUXHALL MERIVA B REAR BRAKE PADS REAR BRAKE DISCS

Rear brakes pads renewed
Rear brake discs renewed
Someone has pointed out that there is a service mode for the electric handbrake.
Put the rear brake calipers into "service mode"
Put the gear into Neutral or P.
Turn ignition on with engine off.
Press brake pedal a few times until servo vacuum is empty.
Press the brake pedal and the Park Brake switch down until the orange service lamp flashes.
Keep brake pedal depressed
Release and re-press the Park Brake switch for approx. 5 secs until the orange service light goes off.
Release the Park Brake switch and brake pedal simultaneously, the orange service lamp begins to flash and the Park brake motor should fully release.
You should hear a noise as it happens.
The rear calipers should now be in service mode allowing the pads to be replaced.
Turn-Off "service mode"
Put the gear into neutral or P.
Turn ignition on with engine off.
Pull the Park Brake switch and press the brake pedal simultaneously until the orange service light goes off and the rear caliper drives out.

Someone pointed out that there is a service mode for the electric brake that can be easily activated when changing brake pads on the rear. I have added it in the description and here is a link to the how to video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a5udkruCmtLQko0.html

Thanks for the amazing video.. I will be tackling this on my Meriva B this afternoon. I have always been wary of tackling this as I thought the E-Handbrake is more complicated than it appears to be in your video.

excellent video. Getting too old to do my own now but videos like this which include even the minor tips make life so much easier. Only question I have is where did you get you disk and pads?

Thanks, glad you liked it. I think I got the Discs and pads from Eurocarparts but it might of been their online only website Carpartsforless.

Great video thanks. I have heard that pushing the brake piston back in to enable fitment of the new pads can damage the ABS system unless the bleed valve is undone, have you heard of this? Kind regards

Sorry for the late response as KZfaq seems to be hiding my comments? Yes I released the hand brake and didn't use it till I had done both sides

Before I had the special tool I used to use a pair of long nose pliers. Put the tips of the pliers in the slots in the piston and push and turn, It can be quite hard to push and turn pliers at the same time but i have done it.

Some claim the piston has to be rotated while being pressed in. Did you do this?

Hi, any news on the last e bike build? Also, I noticed that you used a zoom forgo fork on the e bike you sold, is that fork any good?,I'm thinking about using it on my bike... Anyway great content...subbed!

Hi, the zoom fork is okay on flat surfaces but any bumps and is like a pogo stick and has no damping. It also says not to be used as downhill forks as they will probably not stand up to it.

What price is far for rear disc and brake pads for a meriva been quoted £406

I paid around £50 pound for discs and pads... £406 pound seems excessive but then I always do my own so not sure how much a garage would cost.

I think the part numbers are 95514416 (93181189) but there may be variations depending on engine and model 👍
