Instead of putting the bedliner back in, I’d suggest coating the bed with Line-X. Well worth the investment

As you probably know, the B&W Companion 5th Wheel hitch drops in the same socket. I feel sorry for the guys laying under the truck every time they have to install/uninstall a conventional 5er.

I put the same B&W in my 95 dually and it was a perfect fit and worked great. Timbrens work great and should fit fine with the B&W

No bed liner but bed coat like others are saying. I've installed 3 B&Ws. One on my 2nd gen, one on my 3rd gen and one on a buddy's megacab. I always unbolted one side of the bed and used a widowmaker and wood block to give more space. Did the same thing with the strap. Each took more than 90 minutes but I would do it again. Good part is i can use my Companion 5th wheel hitch and no rails in my bed. You'll be very pleased.

Plastic liner holds moisture and dirtunderneath. Also it's slick as snot in winter. Rhinoliner for the win. Textured, and strong 16years later and it's still black and intact on my dodge.

I’m partial to color matched spray in bed liners myself but my dad loves the drop ins. Either way they are nice to have and save your bed. Enjoy the videos!

B&W turn over ball.👍🏻 Drill a 4” hole in the inner fender liner for the release rod. No airbags on my 2nd Gen. I installed a Timbren system, instead. Works great when towing the fifth wheel. I Rhino Lined my bed. The previous owner had the plastic liner like yours. It prevented dents, but the spray on liner looks and works so much better. Besides, I have an Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch, so the plastic insert liner wouldn’t work well.

I put a B&W in my 2003. Fairly Simple install. Was a bit nervous cutting a 4” hole in my bed though! I did the same exact thing to hold the plate up.

I've got nearly a million miles on one of my B&W setups. I wouldn't go with any other brand.

I ran the bed liner in my second gen with the B & W, the safety chain hooks lined up with the ribs only thing was it required a pocket knife to pop them up out of the ribs.

I would really recommend get a good spray in liner now. Keeps it from rusting cargo doesn't slide around and its a lot safer for you. If you don't know what i'm talking about get little snow in that plastic liner then try to stand in it its like glare ice zero traction. Great video I wondered how hard it is to install one of these hitches.

B&W is a great setup , I run there turn over ball along with there 5th wheel set up , great customer service, would go with X liner spray in bed liner.

Installed several under bed hitches at my previous job at a local Hitch Shop. I personally prefer the Curt "Hide-a-goose" as it's the same idea as a B&W but much more affordable, has the 30K rating, but it actually has a Dual Latch system making it twice as secure than the single pin latch the B&W uses. Just my opinion though. As far as a test goes, it'd be cool to see just for shits and giggles to hook your new trailer up to this truck without the airbags and load your 5500 on it (not to actually tow it down the road) but to just see how much the 2500 squats with a heavy ass load like that hooked to it. Be pretty interesting to see how strong the 2500 springs actually are.

The DIAMOND with your KTM on the dead center with nylon on the bars attached to 4 speed binders lol and jump the ramp onto the trailer and ride it off with the tail up 🤘👍. Oh and parade around town with it loaded

I had a hell of a time getting mine in, had to use a jack to keep pressure on the rear angle crossmember and work it slowly forward with a hammer. But shes in 4 hours later

Despite what people are saying about LineX or any other spray in liner, don’t do it. First they grind out the paint to stick and destroy the bed. Once water gets between the bed and liner hello rust and goodby bed. Happened to mine and my body shop friend says and has seen this to many times. Found the last new take off bed in the free world. In the end I used the Bed Rug full kit. Check it out, is really durable, I really like it. Sam would like your feedback. Truck is coming along great.

My dad has a 1995 12 valve single cab 5 speed 4 wheel drive long bed Cummins stock everything and he pulled a tractor with it grossing 28,000 and average speed of 56 mph so that truck should pull a skid steer

It's a 99 cummins 2500 quadcab longbed amd I'm worried on how I would get the measurements since it doesn't have the original bed on it. Any help would be great, if I could get a measurement from the back of the cab to center of ball I'm sure would work

B&W is top tier in my book. I'm running their OEM Gooseneck Ball and Safety Chain Kit in my 4th Gen dually. It cost more but I didn't like how cheaply built the other brands are

You should definitely do a video on spraying raptor liner in the truck bed of ole red! Would make a nice video and look WAY nicer than that plastic liner! Also, Hitch looks great!

If you want bags again, order bags for a 2001 ram 3500 cab & chassis truck. They go on the inside of the frame and mount where the bump stop is then down to the axle tube. It’s a Firestone kit.

Just ordered my gooseneck trailer and b&w hitch for my 2nd gen.

Also put some good grease on the bottom part of the ball also. Cuz it will rust in their and it involves a sledgehammer to get it out.

I've always loved a bed mat instead of a plastic liner. If I do it again though I will spray my own bed liner in.

Thanks for showing us that install, I am thinking about a gooseneck install on my 1/2 ton as diamond C has made some custom order 16ft deck over and they didn’t make delivery deadline and are selling at steep discount, they are only rated for 11,000 lbs, perfect size and weight for my 1500 . Put the bed liner back in. The only thing it would interfere with would be if you decided to install a companion 5wheel hitch. If you need to remove it for some reason you still can ,if you go with spray in liner your stuck with it, plus that stuff is notorious for coming off.

Who makes the best spray in liner ? I heard the guy who invented it then sold out made another one now that his non compete is over and it’s crazy good if I can find out I’ll post but throw a spray one in for sure

I got a draw-tite flip over ball and it was as easy as the B&W just a little different on the ball but yet same setup as the B&W and reasonably priced online

Make sure brother you pull that ball when unattended. It's couple hundred to replace if a knuckle head takes it

Every time I put on a goose neck on a truck that's new to me, I have to find it's comfort zone in weight. I'd haul some logs with it. Increase the weight slowly to find a butter zone of sorts. I'm sure the motor will be happier than the brakes and suspension with the heavy weight. 15k is about all I see in the hills without modifying it.

I know i could add a gooseneck to my f350 flatbed but i would have to make a trap door in my flatbed and i would have to jack a gooseneck 6 inches up to clear my bed but i would do that if i bought a fifthwheel camper and get or build an adapter. I dont for sure but i dont think my 350 is far behind your 5500 on rear spring capacity

Put a B&W in years ago and they work with no issues. Just lucky no one has stolen my ball. Funny, your install did not have the large bolts that go through the frame on the sides or I missed that.

Use the red 12v with your old trailer with the 08 on it!!

I would not put the bed liner back in because once you cut a hole in it for the gooseneck ball you have defeated the purpose it serves I would do a spray in bedliner.

How is the new truck with the aisin holding up? I'm looking at getting a new 6.7 to haul a heavy toy hauler and I'm having a hard time choosing to go with the aisin vs the g56. I'm looking at towing upto 20k for the trailer which is over the tow rating of the g56. I don't think a g56 truck would have a problem with this heavy of a load but then again I don't have any experience with them. Any input would be highly appreciated, keep up the good videos man.

Color matched Spray on bed liner with a rubber mat over top of it... Spray in is great but it doesn't do a whole lot to stop denting. The rubber mat really helps and it quiets things down. You can get them from about any truck website. realtrucks.com is where I got mine. Made to fit your model and year of truck for around 100 bucks. Cheaper than buying stall mats and cutting them to fit. Its heavy enough you don't even have to secure it down. I just threw mine in my truck and its been in there since I got it.

Go for a spray inbed liner

Put a set of cab & chassis air bags on. They go from the bottom of the frame to the top of the axle. Much better design.
