VCA Smart Events Included in Hikvision Cameras

Take note of the valuable analytics included for free in Hikvision cameras. These analytics can be used to cut down on unnecessary recording and significantly extend video retention time when used in place of standard motion detection. Smart events allow the cameras to detect more specific activities and trigger multiple actions including recording, email or text, push notifications to the Hikvision mobile apps and desktop software, alarm output relay, audible notification and full screen monitoring on the NVR's video output.

Hi CCTV Pro..thanks for the helpful video. I have motion detection as well as line crossing enabled. I get the notifications on my phone on Hik Connnect (or IVMS 4500) when motion or line crossing is detected. The problem is that video is only available on the motion detection and not on the smart events. On the smart events, it shows a video player but says "no video available". Should i be on Constant or Event recording?

Whay system cams and dvr would u recommend 4 cam system outdoor bullet cam and dome? Home use 1. Door 2. Up high cams and good night vision where the image a good a night with zoom up to 25 ft.. Read licence plates etc

I have a question about alerts. When I get a line crossing alert and the subject stands there for say 4 seconds, I got like 14 alerts to my mobile device. How can you set a delay between events so that you only get one alert per event and not 14 ? is that possible. This is the biggest problem is i get about 180 events just in the first 8 hours of the day.

Excellent video! Can you please confirm that a VCA Line Crossing and or Intrusion Detection will initiate a record function on the Hikvision NVR under the "Event" category when that schedule is enabled? i.e. Are Line Crossing and or Intrusion Detection considered an "EVENT"?

Yes, they are events which can trigger recording, email, alarm output, audible notification (at the NVR) and PTZ linkage.

Question where do I look for the "VCA" I cant seem to find it anywhere, as I can only view from my HDMI do I have to download another program (if so what program) as so to view on my computer?. Great video!!! A couple questions: - Do you have a web site or an association with a company that supplies dealers with HIK products? - In the example of the line crossing, and on the image it has the green box around moving objects --- is this NVR dependent or camera dependent? I am also asking in regards to normal motion detection and the option for Dynamic Motion Analysis.... Both for the line crossing and the motion detection dynamic analysis - I don't have this happening. In the video - is that a live view from the NVR or IVMS or web portal? I am using OEM NVRs (LTS) and haven't been able to get this dynamic analysis to work. The IP cameras all support line crossing and intrusion detection. Any ideas?

@@charlesedwards3296, It actually called smart events in the products. Look for the "Events" section and they may be in there or a sub section called smart events. You should check the user's manual if you need more help.

@@klacourciere, 1. No. 2. With Hikvision, the IP cameras do the analysis unless it's an analog system. With analog systems, the DVRs are usually capable of some VCA. 3. You need to enable display of "rules" if you want to see the lines and boxes. That's in the local configuration in the web GUI and in the system configuration in iVMS software.

If the ptz cam just have vca (line crossing, region entrance, etc for human or vehicle) but without smart tracking feature, how to enable it? (Maybe by adding the program into it? How to adding it?). Thanks

How do I add (vca) the green boxes that follow moving objects in my system cameras- I cant find the menu for that in my Hikvision nvr (hd-over coax) One camera is doing it already -I have no idea how i turned it or it got turned on but also have no idea in all the menues to make the other cameras do it as well please help

Exact instructions depend one the device or software you are using. In general, go into settings/configuration, go the the live view/playback settings and turn off "rules".

That's impossible to know without knowing how exactly you're trying to do it. Maybe you are using a web browser that is not compatible. If using a web browser you need to use internet explorer and you need to install the plug-in. I have other videos about that.

what happen if its a moving camera and the line moves with the camera instead of staying in place?

If you're talking about a PTZ camera, the line doesn't move with the pan/tilt/zoom movements. If you're talking about physically moving a camera from one location to another, then the line stays fixed on the screen and any object that crosses the line will have the same effect as the line crossing the object.
