Most computers I work on usually have issues with bad solder connections never thought one of these things would break because of that.....

Olá, amigo! Sou aqui do Brasil, então você terá de usar um tradutor kkk consegui um desses aqui, o que torna mais raro ainda e estou há meses trabalhando para repará-lo, já que não só a parte eletrônica mas também o corpo está ressecado e quebrado. Mas sempre que conecto o cabo que leva ao motor que o faz dançar, ele corta todos os movimentos e sons, isso tem me dado muito trabalho. Se imaginar o que possa ser, fará um natal muito feliz por aqui! Happy Xmas!

I bought my third life size Santa and it has the same problem, for how many minutes should I put hot air on it?

2 minutes should be more than enough but make sure to not keep it on the same spot or you could fry the circuit board. Keep in mind that there is hot glue everywhere on the circuit board if it melts its not a big deal. After using the heat gun let it sit for a few minutes then plug it in and test it usually it works on the first try. If it doesn't a second go with the heat gun maybe needed. If the second time doesn't work you may need to replace the capacitors

You use a 9v adapter?

Yep it uses a 9v adapter. I also ruled that out before doing the heat gun trick at first I thought the original power adapter was faulty but trying a different one made no difference. It was a cold solder joint in the circuit board
