VCF East 2022 was a blast! The Vintage Computer Festival East took place in Wall, NJ in April. Join me as I give you a tour of what I saw, who I bumped into, and what goodies I purchased during the event. I shared a table with Mike (‪@MichaelAStanhope‬) and Sean (‪@ActionRetro‬) we had a lovely array of vintage Apple and Macintosh machines on display.

Can't believe I didn't recognize you guys there! Next year I'll be more on top of things. I actually bought the untested 17 inch cinema display, and the 30 inch! True to form, untested did indeed mean broken, but I do intend to swap the panel as the case is in good shape. The 30 inch was marked down to 100 by Sunday and I picked it up, works great with my G5 but I'm STILL working the nicotine stains off of it. The AC adapter reeked like an ashtray the first time I started it up.

No worries! We'll be sure to say hi at the next one :-) Sorry about the 17 inch, at least the 30 inch works! Yeah, I imagined those stains and smells will take some convincing to get off for good.

I have not chances to visit those events but every time I watch videos about them I remember why 40 years ago I bought my first computer magazine and my passion exploded… Why I love Apple and old computers… And why I am bored by modern computers 😀

Thanks for the video Steve. I wish there was something like this here in the UK. You are helping me in learn lots more about vintage computing. Not so much on the repair side 40 years + as an electronics engineer here (Broadcast and music studio's :-) but its lovely to see you try and improve repair after repair. I love your enthusiasm and commitment. thanks again and keep up the good work.

Loved this video, thanks for sharing. Being based in the UK it's interesting to see how different the models on display tend to be compared to the systems we typically see over here. Would love to make it over to VCF some day!

Nice to see so many printers. I'm happy I don't live in or around that area. My wife would kill me. Funny how still after all these years people are still improving on Mac horrible designs. Also, I really loved if when I found a scsi mac zip drive. So, I can easy transfer stuff between what I download on the PC and put on the mac. :)
