Sunday, October 3, is the anniversary of the day in 1990 on which Hladini devi dasi was brutally gunned down by an extra-judicial firing squad in war-torn Liberia in western Africa. The death squad arrived at the Hare Krishna temple in the capital city of Monrovia in the early morning hours, and ordered the devotees to come out. Seven devotees, five men and two women, exited the temple and filed into the waiting jeep. They were driven a short distance to the Sturton Bridge, where the devotees were forced out at gunpoint and herded onto the sand next to the river. The leader announced that only the men would be killed. Thus Hladini, a woman, knew she would not be killed.
As the leader raised his weapon to fire the first execution volley, Hladini leapt forward and attacked him with her bare hands. She shouted, “How dare you kill the devotees of Krishna? Better you kill me than kill them!” Hladini was the first to be shot...

@@aninamohan9822 Hinduism has no concept of conversion. We believe that knowledge should not be confined within the boundaries of any particular religion and it is not supposed to be. Every creature on earth has right over knowledge and true bliss. There are many monks from ISCON who have faith in both Jesus and Krishna. You know God is one, we all worship same God. Monks from ISCON know this! *So spreading divine knowledge and bliss cannot be considered as conversion* . We call them Guru for their knowledge, self-realization and sacrifices. For simplicity and innocence in their devotion. Again every one has right to follow whatever form of God they want to follow of THEIR OWN FREE WILL! But the person who has realized that all Gods are the same has truly understood God. Monks from ISCON have understood this. They worship Krishna because they find bliss in that name and in that form. They live a very simple lifestyle and dedicate their entire life in devotion of God. So...Being a Hindu we believe in Krishna, Jesus or any other god as one and respect each of them. Thanks.

@@truthreal3378 In Jesus Teachings there is no Guru or saints no human beings are capable of attaining the true wisdom .....we are all sinners and fallen it's only through the Grace of God Jesus Christ we will be saved . In the garden of Eden Eve was forbidden to eat from the tree of KNOWLEDGE. The serpent tempted Eve by saying that she has FREE WILL and will attain knowledge to know right from wrong ..... Basically it's the free will to choose whatever you want as a human being what you feel is right but to attain heaven or moksha you have to follow God's will ..... So when you say you follow both Jesus and Krishna it's not possible that's not what Jesus says..... Jesus Christ Himself said you cannot be faithful to two masters there is only one path that's Him alone. " I am the Way The Truth and The Life no one comes unto the Father but by Me ". I have no problem with you following Krishna but just mentioning what Bible says .......

We are here to learn from her devotion and contribution. You know this is not the right place for discussing all these, but still I will try my best to convey my understanding and opinion to you. You need to think deeply into verses to actually understand what Jesus had actually said. If you carefully compare Hindu scriptures with Bible using logic then you will realize that both the scriptures speak the same thing. Just give me about half an hour or so to to reply you back...

From Chintamani dasi, ACBSP: Mother Hladini is what we call a pure devotee. I was her friend in New Vrindavana ashram in the early and mid 1970s. I can say she was the best example of a bhakta I have ever had the mercy to associate with. Many people in the comments are asking the same question I also asked, why didn't Lord Krishna save this pure soul? I talked to one of her closest friends, Mother Rupa (who just passed away this year), about this years ago. The African incident was around 30 years ago if I remember correctly. One thing is certain, she is now with Lord Krishna. She was also, as is taught in Bhagavad-gita, not the physical body. In fact, being around her in the past, she was on a very high spiritual platform and more transcendental to the physical body than most devotees. She had intense love, bhava, for the Lord and I believe Krishna pulled her out of the physical before she could suffer. Still, what a horrible way to die, but it is over now and she will be famous, although that isn't anything she wanted. What an example she was! Chintamani dasi.

What can be done, after Prabhupada's departure it seems that ISKCON is now run by Leninists, Slavic-Americans. They manage ISKCON for their own agenda. Prabhupada: "It is a fact however that the great sinister movement is within our Society." They instrumentalized the Hindus and a few Africans to cover up their rule. that action of commemoration would mean worldly attachment. against Krishna's teachings. it is better to let things go. world does not belong to us humans. our actions, of free will has consequences, however, the devotion is God given.

@Aura Flow define "our duty" path that Arjuna would otherwise take was already a path to righteousness by default had he not agreed to fight his brethren in Mahabharata. Arjuna during battle of Kurukshetra was heartbroken to see his relatives whom he would have to kill to maintain so called "righteousness/justice". Despite all that sacrifice, look where we are right now. Is "dharma" or the world gotten better since? Or has it become worse? Did Lord Krishna not anticipate this? Or, is this His plan from the beginning? what Lord Krishna showed in Mahabharata is the importance of life and death itself. For God, life and death holds same and constant value. Krishna holds equal and impartial affection towards these two illusionary states of being. After life comes death and after death comes life.

Every spirit soul is intrinsically immortal, eternal and full of bliss. It is stated in the Vedas that the living entities are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, just as sparks are part & parcel of a fire. We sparks become covered by the ignorance of dull matter as we enter the material realm, but we don't lose our identity. The fortunate soul who grabs ahold of the mercy bhakti creeper is pulled out of ignorance.

Such A Pure and True Example of Service with Love, Compassion, Bhakti, Surrender + Bravery. My Thousands of Pranams🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌺🌺🌺🌺 A Devotee has all the qualities which we call the Varna. When a Devotee's Consciousness / Chetna has blossomed with Full Faith, Love and Surrender to The Supreme it automatically starts manifesting according to the need. Actually we all persons whether we are not so highly devoted we all have these qualities within us. Brahman, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra. It would be Better saying that actually they are Not Caste these are Qualities of our work pattern and our emotions (Bhava) . Om Shanti. We all must learn from her.

Now compare her with Mother teresa. Mother teresa no where stands in front of true love of heavenly soul Haladini. She sacrificed her life for love and compassion of the devotees, this saprate us from islamic suicide group who do it for 72 Virgens. She is blessed. You can see how Shri Krishna end their leela here on earth and how Gautam buddha died just only drinking poisonous soup. It’s just only the reason.
